And planning a sorta luau themed rockabilly wedding, I'm just starting out on cheap planning, its not til Jan 2012, but just wanted some hints from those who have been there and done that, or perhaps are in the process of planning a rockabilly wedding right now, to share info and *stresses* with!!!!

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials.
Congratulations! My best advice is to to keep organized! I wish that I had been more organized throughout my planning! Best of luck, doll!
Betty Red's wedding had a rockabilly feel to it. I'm sure she'll chime in, but here are a few of her pix.
Red and black color scheme:

and a custom cake topper that included their tattoos!!

I just remembered this thread, not sure how much rockabilly stuff is in it, but it might help a bit. http://www.pinuplifestyle.com/forum/topics/2346862:Topic:58682

offbeatbride.com was my vice when I got married. I was featured on there as well. =0]

The first thing to come out of everyone's mouths when they'd heard we were getting divorced was, "aw but it was such a pretty wedding", hahaha.

I can't think of anything specific for a luau themed rockabilly wedding right off hand, but I'm sure it'll be beautiful nonetheless. Keep us all on PL updated with your planning, and I'm sure we can all help come up with ideas during the process. Good luck!
One thing I can recommend is getting your wedding dress from Whirlingturban! www.whirlingturban.com
Yeah I'm needing to do this pretty much entirely DIY or with the help of friends as we are a single income family, so I'm starting early!!! I'm taking lotsa ideas from lotsa places, but yes, any hints, keep em coming!

Congrats love! I was married in August of last year, Roxy posted some photos from it.

My best advice is to keep it original...incorporate things that you love no matter what anyone else says about it. Keep it organized, but don't get too caught up in the stress of the details and ENJOY it.

Like Kim said...Whirling Turban makes BEAUTIFUL dresses! You can also check out my PL page...I wrote a couple of blogs with some cool finds.

I've found a dress (blue velvet vintage) I'm after but I'm not really a "white dress" bride, so I wanna see if I can get it made in peach, and the bridesmaid dresses in a soft pastel colour. Not so sure yet. offbeat bride is definately a great help

i second offbeatbride.com, and the forums (kvetch) at indiebride.com were really good with the diy ideas. i wrote our ceremony based around the readings thread and DIY'd most of the decor (not rockabilly themed or i'd post pics!). try checking partyblogs and other sites like snippetandink.com for ideas you can adapt for the two of you.

the best advice i can give you is to do what you love, no matter what anyone else says
