ok i finally get to start taking some pinup pics by a pro photographer(actually by my most adorable friend cat)haha.i am nervous because for some odd reason when taking photos its so hard to keep a straight face..even if its just smiling i feel like im smiling like that creeper mcdonalds clown guy and cant help but laugh at myself.lol i need advice on what to do or how to be a photogenic person if i want this to work...any advice on this?
I agree, practice your poses and facial gestures in the mirror. Usually when I do a shoot I invent a character based on my plans for wardrobe, hair and makeup. This makes it easier for me to break out of my shell and concentrate. The first few shots are usually lighting tests so get your giggles out then and shake it off for the shoot. What's wrong with a few good shots of a happy laughing pinup girl? Most of all, relax and have a good time.
One of the problems may be that since you are new, you are nervous. Try to remember that you are amazing and beautiful, and there is nothing to feel silly about. The more photos you take, the more comfortable you will be in front of the camera. And like the other girls said, practice in front of the mirror, it's one of the best ways to learn your strengths and weaknesses.
And like Miss Auburn Hills said, there is nothing wrong with a few cheesy shots. They look cute!
If it helps, develop a character and do what you did best when you were little... Pretend! I like to pretend I am a hot, high paid pin up model, or a 1950's movie star, even though i am the exact opposite. I just imagine that I am all that and a bag o chips and it seems to work! I am total goof in real life and it sometimes shows in my photos which is ok because after all, I am Robin Rose full time, and Birdie La Roux for 5% of my life. Having a degree in theatre has helped out a lot, but I still have to try and reel it in a little! Chances are, your smiley little giggles are totally cute!
