I Need Some Advice..

I am doing a photoshoot with some friends in the upcoming weeks and am not sure exactly what sort of lighting, and backdrops I should use.
Any help?

is it in your house, that you will be shooting?
are you going to do it outside?

in your home.... open the drapes.... experiment with the lighting BEFORE your friends show up...

backdrop- if you dont have the 'proper' paper backdrops, or sheet stands, thumb tack sheets to your wall, IF THEY ARE WRiNKLED, IT WILL LOOK SUPER SHITTY.... if the wrinkles dont come out, think of gathering the material together for your backdrop.... ALSO, remember to clear EVERYTHING FROM THE AREA prior to the shoot...
when i used to let friends take my pinup, they would forget to move a (lighting) cord or a prop that was not in the shot, was on the floor and (personally) it should be SEAMLESS.... or it looks like a crappy 'home-job'

outside is a great place for photos... but again, watch for road signs and 'un-pinup' things in the background.... make your photos 'period correct' to what you are shooting....

even though you mayjust be shooting with friends, and it isn't 'high-end' look at everything you do, as if it were a high end shoot.... think to your self, would that look good in a magazine? you are your own WORST critic, so use that to improve your pics!!!!

Thanks so much. I'm hoping to shoot a little outside, but it is quite cold here in PA, so it'll probably be inside.

Most of my backdrops I made. Cloth store. Most cloth is too narrow but cut it in half, either sew or I used heat tape to bind the cloth together with an iron so you can have a wide backdrop. If any seam shows I Photoshop that out. I'm what you call a shoe string photographer. LOL Also I get alot of my clothes for models from the thrift store. Good Luck!

That's what I'm thinking about doing. I have some beautiful fabrics, blankets and curtains I'm going to use as backdrops. And I have photoshop so I'm in luck when it comes to any mini-disasters.
