I have no idea where to put this, so hello Off Topic.

Alrighty, I found this dress and it's got a super cute pattern to it, problem is - spaghetti strapped maxi dress that's def. a size or three too big... Boourns. I'm 5'4" so I look like I'm walking around in mama's dress and that bums me out. I'd love it if it could be reworked into something cute I could actually wear. The fabric (here's where you start to hate me) feels like a flag, it's 100% polyester *groan* (top layer with pattern is sheer, there's a liner that's got some snags could/should be replaced). I have no idea WHAT exactly it could be turned into, but I'm curious to see -

(A) If anyone has any ideas what it could be or if it's even worth it. (I love the pattern but it depends on what this would cost me I think.)
(B) If anyone is willing to do the work. I'd obviously pay for your time, and the extras that are needed to make this happen. Estimates please!

Thanx for reading, I know it was horrendous.

Maybe you can look for a seamstress for some input.
What size is the dress? There should be enough fabric there to make a pencil skirt or a top. But depending on the size you may not be able to get much more outta it.
if you're really swimming in it, you should have plenty of fabric to make whatever your heart desires! you can take some off the bottom, and use the fabric to make some really cute cap sleeves for the top? or tank-style straps and make the neckline a sweetheart? Something like this? CLICK!
The dress is at least a medium, I am DEFINITELY swimming in it, it could be used for much more than a skirt. I'm going to print off the image from that link Honey and see if any of the local seamstresses can help me, thanx dolls!
why not try making it into a vintage style playsuit? leave the spaghetti straps and make the skirt into shorts. add either buttons up the front or a back zip and you're done. if there's enough fabric left over, make ruffle sleeves to attach to the spaghetti straps. hope that helps
