To Bang or Not to Bang?

So I've been wondering if I should get some bangs or not... All my life I have been taught "Whatever you do with your hair, don't get bangs". To the girls who already have them... are they hard to manage? How long should they be? What do I need to know?

I think it really depends on your face shape, what style you want, how "and how high or low matenience" you are with your hair routine. I was thinking about getting them myself, until my hairdresser told me that I really didn't have the right face shape for them.

I on and off again cut bangs. I cut them angle and rounded. I do them just to my eyebrow and curl them under with a 1.25 inch curling iron. When I want to do something different, I will blow dry them up and to the side, and using a tiny curing iron, make a roll to the side. I teese them to make them full and to blend the shorter pieces back and into the roll.

I have had bangs my entire life... and I love them!!! I think they "spice up" a look and you can do lots with them (including pull them back if you don't like them). But like the others said.. It really depends on face shape.

I wanted bangs for years, but didn't wear them because a boyfriend said they'd make my face look too round. As soon as he and I split up, I cut them in... that was three or four years ago, and I can't imagine living any other way! I have trouble getting them even when I do it myself, but a bang trim at Floyd's (for gals who live in AZ, CA, CO, MA, MD, MN, or TX) is only $5 and comes with a shoulder massage. Can't beat it!

Worst case scenario? You hair will grow back out.

I've had them and I've grown them out numerous times. I get bored with my hair so easily. I think the good thing about not having bangs is you can always part your hair and roll it for an instant bang effect. It still keeps your hair versatile when you do it that way.

Okay, I went through your photos, and I absolutely think that your face could handle bangs. BUT here are the things to consider:
1. Do you break out easily? If so having the extra hair in your face may not be an optimum idea.
2. Do you have a good flat iron that you'll be willing to spend a few minutes every morning re-flattening them?
3. Do you have a stylist you can trust? See if yours will do bang trims in between cuts for free. You want to keep them looking sharp.

They aren't terribly hard to manage, but depending on how long you get them, you may not be able to pull them into a ponytail or even clip them up, which does require some maintenance.

Not yet. It's a big decision for me! I ask people and some say go for it some say don't. Everyone says they will grow back... that much I know for sure. I think if I do it I'll get them long enough to pin up (no bun intended).

I also don't know what to do with my blonde streak. Thats another issue. I could just move it or make it smaller and off to the side of the bangs. What do you think?

aaahahahahahhaahaha, that's fantastic.

And I love bangs, I've had them, and grown them out, and then cut them again....it's a love hate relationship with me. It really does depend on how much time you want to spend styling your hair every day...because bangs don't really look "good" without a little thought. :D Good luck!!
