Should Photographers start posting Pictures of themselves and their team as well as their work?


i've come across some irie photographers, how can we decided on who will make us comfortable as models, and who wont?

I like to see a picture of the photographer if I'm going to shoot w/ them. How else would I know who to meet up with when the time comes if we are meeting at a public place? No, I don't find it creepy in any way.

I think all models fear the GWC (Guy With Camera) Creeper. We often throw out "Bob" looks like a creeper." but that is basing skills, and personality only on looks and could be furthest from the truth. Some of the most brilliant photographers are old and may look like absolute creeps, some of the wildest like Terry Richardson are creepers but take amazing photos. Some people look completely innocent but end up being megacreeps.

In closing, looking at the person wouldn't really help much, but it's not too much to ask for a photo before meeting up simply to know who you're meet up with on site. What is the ultimate goal? Amazing photography, and if the photographer has a great portfolio but looks/acts like a creeper, meet up first.

Aha! That's exactly my reason! I would just like to know who to keep an eye out for when we meet up if, say, we're meeting to discuss the shoot.

I agree with Edson. One of the most brilliant photographers I know looks like a complete creeper. He's just quirky!

And Jason Allen looks like a creep, but he takes amazing photos! (hi Jason!)

My friend Blake is an extremely talented photographer, but he kinda dresses like a hobo. On first sight you probably wouldn't want your photos taken by him! But you would be really missing out.
