Hey Dolls,

My trainer suggested that I get the Insanity workout. Has anyone tried it yet?

I've heard of it. If I'm not mistaken it uses some of the same principals as P90x. It's like a 60 day workout plan, all body weight exercises. I believe it uses the whole muscle confusion principals, but I could be wrong. I don't know of anyone that has used it, but it seems similar in ways to the P90x which I have, and what some of my associates have used both male and female; all with good reviews. The only thing like anything else, is self motivation. As long as you're committed, follow the proper diet, it's going to work.
All i'm saying is workout + insanity= eek!
Never tried it, but I've seen it. It looks crazy!! I thought about trying it... for about 5 seconds. It's way too intense for me. But if you try it, let us know how it is!
I worked with a "dancer" who tried that workout. Let me first say, she was in impeccable shape, not an ounce of fat on her, and she was a regular in the gym... But she couldn't even keep up. She said it was the hardest workout of her life, but she LOVED it. If you're a bit of an andrenaline junkie, or a workout junkie, go for it! But otherwise, be careful. It's INSANE
I actually have the Insanity workout and I will have to say Kitty, if you are in serious shape already, then you should do this. Use P90x first as a stepping stone. Insanity is balls to the wall workout. It is totally different from p90x as in the fact that it doesn't use weights, but more importantly it does long bursts of high energy aerobics. Which may sound good, but it is definitely a workout built for a true CONDITIONED athlete. Yes, it's a great workout and yes, you can become a great athlete from it, but in order to benefit from it, you must be in excellent shape to start off with. It's NO JOKE. I'm not knockin it either or trying to persuade you from it. It's an awesome video and will work wonders, but, if you're not in fantastic shape already, just doing the pre-workout warm-up will for sure discourage you from moving on with the rest. They even suggest you consult with your physician before beginning (crazy). It's based on high intervals for long periods of time, instead of short burst intervals for short periods of time. It's a gut-buster for sure, just make sure you got the legs and heart for it. As for me, I did the warm up and it was definitely tough. I'm starting with p90x first, then I'll graduate myself up to it. The golden rule here is: if you stick to something long enough the results will come and all the hard work will pay off. Good luck!! - XOXO Aubrey

one of my friends just recently tried it..he's def not out of shape but not in his best. he said he had to stop after the first 10 minutes...rest...and finally resume after he was able.
I actually have the workout. I can't do it! I tried to keep up, but couldn't.
Thanks Dolls, I haven't gotten it yet in the mail... but if you don't hear from me for a while then you.... end help to Texas!! LOL I will let you know what I think after I see it. :-)
