I just checked my email and saw that I had a message from a photographer from my Miss Online account asking to remove him from my friends list. I was puzzled! I have never been asked that by any photographer! I read on.. this is what he wrote me.. :

"... has sent you a message on Miss Online

I am sorry. please remove me from your friends listings. After I accepted you, I viewed your page and read, "...**A note to photographers**

I will NOT shoot nude nor any type of erotic / fetish / bondage photography -- for any price. I value myself as a model with talent that is best shown while maintaining proper (and fashionable) attire. Any woman can pose naked in front of a camera, but I want to do more than that.

Implied or lingerie shoots are negotiable for a reasonable price. I will bring an escort to these shoots.

-- For a full day of shooting: $500
-- For a half day of shooting: $275"

In a creative world where nudity is minor I am sick and tired of all the models who claim on one side that they value staying clothed and think that is the creative way to go. I don't work with closed minded, bible thumping models. Especially when they list something like this!!!!!"

Although I was livid, I responded as tactfully as possible. I wrote that any photographer I have ever worked with loves their art. And, any photographer who has worked with me has never had a problem with me not shooting nude. Am I wrong about this?

How dare he attack me for my own choice! Did I sit there and rant about nude being porn? (like my mom.... ugh..) No. I don't care if someone else gets naked. I just won't. Does it come off that I am snubbing my nose or something?

I hope not. I hope he is just some idiot photographer. But what do you all think..?

Your story made me sad. People can be so mean!

I wouldn´t just remove him - I´d kick him out of the list!

Everyone has a free choice what sort of pics he and she wants to do. IF someone is just interested in nudes there are enough models that happily cover that field. And that´s it.

I had a situation when I wanted to start up with modelling that almost made me quit straight away. I had sended that photographer my pics and meassures and wrote in my email that I wanna do fashion to lingerie pics. So we met up in a bar so he could show me some of his pics and talk aout the possibilities of shooting together. There he told me I was fat (I weighed way less back than that I do nowadays and wore clothing size S-M which I wouldn´t consider as fat at all) so I should do nude modelling instead. There is no need to mention that I didn´t agree and didn´t work with him at all. I was so pissed of since after all he had known what I look like and what sort of pics I wanted to do anyway. Some people are just dumb. And want to take advantage of you. He sounds like just that kind of guy. Ignore him and move on. He´s not worth it.
I guess I'll add my two sense to this post also. A person's choice is just that. Everyone has their opinions and comfort levels and boundaries. He obviously has a certain "type" of person he wants to work with and there are enough girls out there that are willing to do this type of modeling. No harm, no foul. The personal slam, however was uncalled for and completely unprofessional. If he's having trouble finding what he "needs" it's not your fault and he shouldn't have used you as his scapegoat. All that was needed was a thank you, no thank you comment and everyone can move on.

You are who you are and the right jobs for you will come your way. The rest are a private footnote on the
portfolio that is your life. :)
okay, First of all: I don't know where he's getting off calling you "bible thumping"...because there was nothing in your post about "God doesn't want us to pose naked" or that "being naked is morally wrong"....

so he's absolutely out of line there.

Secondly: Not wanting to pose nude is your own choice, and he (or any photographer for that matter) does not have the right to attack you for your own choice. you didn't ask to work with him, and you didn't ask him to not take nude pictures of ANYONE. So he is completely out of line.

Don't let him get you down honey...the world if full of a*******...you were bound to run into at least ONE one them eventually.

If anyone is close minded here, it is HIM, not you.
Thank you :) You guys are all awesome people <3

Aw, I didn't mean that as a slam at all. I really just meant it to be silly remark, but I suppose I can see where you're coming from..
I think that when you get a talented, nude model and a kick-ass photographer, some serious magic can happen!! But, sadly, the majority of the time when you're browsing through pics on modelmayhem or myspace ... you get a bunch of crap. I know you KNOW the photos I'm talking about, and you KNOW that photographer just wanted to see that poor girl naked. And, she's led to believe that having photos like that are good for her portfolio or whatever line he used.
After all this, I guess to photographers like this guy, I'd rather come off like a snooty biotch than be pestered with messages like "i'd love to do a nude shoot with you! blah blah blah! it'll be great! blah blah blah!"

... can easily be read as a slam on models who DO do nude modeling and this does have a bit of a "I'm better than that" ring to it, so I could understand why it would set someone off. It kinda sounds like you're saying girls and photogs who do nude modeling are beneath you.
Brittany, This photographer is a A-h*** !!! I mean to lash out at you for not doing nudes is totally stupid and disrespectful. He needs to look on Craigslist for porn actresses.....

Just keep doing what your doing and stick to your guns !!! I'm sure all you models run across " Idiot's " like this from time to time so ..... Let it go and know that there are a-holes out there.
The comment he made makes me wonder if he was actually a GWC. I've never had a photographer tell me straight up they wouldn't work with me because I am uncomfortable with doing nude photography. I've had em tell me they won't work with me because I want to bring an escort with me to shoots. I'm sorry he was so rude to you. That was unconscionable at best and honestly an insult to all models who want to stay clothed in front of a stranger's camera. Staying clothed does not make anyone close minded or a bible thumper.

To use less professional wording: he was full of steaming horse s***.
If you take out the last sentence in that it just comes across as matter of fact and very no nonsense. Just remove the "any model can" sentence and you've got yourself a paragraph that no photographer should have a right to complain about. Still where he got bible thumping from is beyond me.

You are such a wonderful model & your pics are beautiful & classy. If he had any integrity & true respect for the art, nude or not, he would never be so rude & nasty as he was in his e-mail to you! I would just block him & not respond at all...he sounds like a psycho...& those are just best to keep clear from. Keep doing what you're doing...you're a lovely lady :)
That's just silly :/ I mean fair enough, he doesn't have to agree with you about the nude modelling but to have a whinge because you have an opinion is going too far. I do agree that any woman can pose naked in front of a camera, though - although I have seen nude shots that are beautiful and unique in their own way, not every model has to get naked and they shouldn't feel like they have to. Just because you don't want to be a nude model doesn't mean you're bible-thumping - hell, I don't want to do nude modelling and don't see why I should have to!
I'm not sure why everyone is all that suprised that some random guy on-line would be an a******. Sure the guy was out of line and that sucks. It shouldn't happen. But let's be honest...there's a bunch of really good looking women on this site. Are you really not used to meeting that guy in the bar, on the street, etc., that makes an out of line comment? Well this jerk just happened to be on-line and put it in writing. You can't take personally when some random jerk decides to try to make you feel bad for his own personal enjoyment (or whatever other reason they may have that I will never understand). Who cares. F*** him. He's not part of your life and he's no one you will probably ever meet. What really matters is your own opinion of yourself. You're never going to please everyone. Why bother trying?
I disagree. Not every woman can pose nude in front of a camera...I think it takes a lot of courage and conviction to do so. Art is subjective...everyone has their own idea and opinion of what Art means to them. Personally, I don't like to set too many limits for myself when it comes to being creative...not to say that I have NO limits. I for one, have posed nude in photos...and I will do it again in a heartbeat if I believed in the concept of the photo. That being said, we each have our own limits and our own opinions...and we're each entitled to it. This guy sounds rather foolish. If it were me, I would've simply deleted him and not even given him the courtesy of a response. To me, that's a bigger "f*** you" than anything.
