Need some ideas, remodeling the man cave @home, vintage style

So about a month ago I decided it was time to change the look of the man cave/office @home. I finally put the sports memorabilia and celebrity memorabilia away. Without getting to crazy with the budget, what things should have in here. For starters I've got some vintage posters, and pics along with some modern pinups. I thought about finding an old telephone, old drive-in speaker, etc...any ideas? I've got alot of shelf space to fill too. Im'm looking for a modern/vintage vibe.

Tiki things are a good thing to look for...

Thrift stores are my favorite place to shop for home decor. I always find vintage things. I recently redid my kitchen, i now have jello molds hanging on my wall.

In our "man cave" i have started finding old airplane things, tiki related things. I would die if i would find an old tiki looking furniture set! Have fun with it!
Thanks for the input Goldie, I really appreciate it. You brought up somethings I hadn't thoght about yet. Thanks again!

I wish I had some input, but I don't really. Just find the things you love and set 'em up in there. Good luck with your project and keep us posted with pics of your progress!
I think vintage lamps and light shades are a great way to give a room a vintage edge without being too over the top. They can be simple so they just fit in or over the top to create a focal point in the room.... plus they shouldn't blow the budget xx
Couldn't agree with you more about figuring out what to put in the is half the fun.  I think I'm leaning towards pinups and old rides from the 30's, 40's and 50's.  I've been hitting some of the vintage stores, but I found it's best to be patient to find the right deal.  I'm not sure when the Pasadena swap meet at the Rose bowl is, but I hear there are some good deals there.  I'll check out some of the pics on google, for some reason I hadn't thought of checking the net for references.  Thnx

I just did a search on google images, and literally thousands of images came up. http://www.google.co.uk/images?q=man+cave&um=1&hl=en&rl...

I think a man cave is a space to fill with things that interest you personally, which you sound like you already had in there with the memorabilia.

Ideally Id have two spaces, one to tinker which would be full of delicate things like models & weird things. (this is where I would build my time machine)

and a space to work on cars, that would have checked lino, car sofa, fridge with cool paint job, sculpture, metal plaques on`t walls. pin striped everything.

I think half the fun is finding this that are interesting and unique to fill them with.
A cool lamp, great idea....need one for sure!  Thnx
