I gals, I'm looking into starting sewing my own dresses and was wondering what your favorite pattern for sewing is? Do you like to make your own clothes or just a few things on the side?

also if anyone knows where to find cute ones online, it would be much appreciated.
Burdastyle.com is a great source for new and advanced sewers. they even have free patterns you can print off. and that are ranked my difficultly.
I do make my own clothes right now, i am working as a seamstress now and I can't even tell you how much good information is out there, burdastyle is great. the magazine, Threads, is great with advice and cool new tricks and tips. the podcast Threadbanger is awesome, it has great DIY projects, granted not all are geared towards retro/pinup style, but it helps to start with easy sewing projects to get the hang of sewing the right way.
If you have any further questions about sewing your own outfits, feel free to message me. i can try my best to help out
I love the vogue vintage patterns (they fit awesomely) and the butterick vintage patterns.
i make most of my own clothes, and hoping to be good enough to make my first winter coat by end of aug/sept

if you need any help or anything just message me
I have this pattern and I ADORE it. You can alter it in so many ways as well to make new and very CUTE dresses!

god! I'm so glad that you started this thread. I'm barely learning to sew myself, and I really need to start making my own "pinup" clothes. everything's too expensive for me...

thank you thank you!!!

Yay! I've sewn a few dresses and I've been toying with the idea of trying more from vintage patterns! Thanks, girls!
