ever have some one come up to you and ask you if "that hurt" weather it be a tattoo or a piercing... and what was your reaction... i have both so i get it alot some one asked me once did that hurt on your chest? and i replyed NO never i love it when people repeatedly drag needles accross my chest till i bleed... lol

yes, thats what I say. of corse it did. but its so different than stubbing your toe. its intentional and therefore a diff way of experiancing pian. and a good one. i love the sharp sting of a needle that i ask to be put somewhere. take it out of context , say someone sticks a needle in your ear or whereever, OUCH it hurts. so yeah, I say yes.

I get that question all the time too. I tell them that it hurts but its not anything I can't deal with. Then they always want to know what the worst part is and think its the spine... but its not. Its the freakin' tailbone! I seriously thought my artist was mad at me because he just kept going over and over and over it. But it was well worth it.

I always want to tell them "of course you dim whit!!!" But whatever, no one understands unless they have one. I totally agree with Delyssia, it's totally intentional and we know what we're getting ourselves into...everyone's tolerance is different, but it's always worth the sweat and tears in the end.

Before I got my chest done I told people it was a tolerable pain but once I got my chest piece, I say it hurts like s***! Of course it all depends on where you get it.

After they ask the ultimate obvious question "did it hurt" it's usually followed up with:
"What do your tattoos mean?"

I feel like that's having a complete stranger ask you your religion or who did you vote for. That's personal...and could take sitting down with coffee to explain. I don't care if it's my friends asking but, if you don't know me don't ask me that when I'm in line to buy tampons at CVS. Seriously people come on!

I get that question also, for both my tats and piercings. As for my tats..my hip I didnt feel anything, but my tats just under my calfs. HOLY CRAP!!!! That guy had the heaviest hand ever. As for my piercings...hell yea my nipples hurt, but the one down under? Didnt even realize he did it until he said, "ok, finished" LOL

I only have my nose pierced, and I usually only get asked if it hurt by the customers at work. It hurt, but not quite like the piercer told me it should, she said "it will feel like a bee sting and then your eyes will water and that's it." That was the day I found out that I'm a bleeder.

thought i'd throw in my two cents... :)
as far as tattoos go, i usually tell people that its not painful, but some what of an unconfortable feeling that you some what become addicted to haha. that you either hate it or love it and can't stop. they don't get my explination until they finally get one themselves and can't explain it any better than i can.
as for pericings, people usually don't ask if it hurt. i get more that just insist on asking me why i choose to have a gawking peice of metal in my nose or gauges in my ears. i just laugh. :)

well i have a tattoo, my first one on my right ankle... i was approached by this dolly at the store asking the same question. I told her, "yeah it hurt, like hell too" and i picked a hell of a spot to get my first one at, but in the end it was all worth it...
