One of my favorite things about vintage is leaning how people lived. And we all know that the best housekeepers were the ladies of the 40's, 50's and 60's. Got any good housekeeping tips from the good ol days? Post 'em here!

Silver polishing? Oh Lordy!
great schedule :)
Where in the world did you find these Roxy? Love it!
God that's just my guilty dream!!! I keep telling my partner when I take maternity leave when we have children I'm more than happy to be a full-time stay at home mum (as his income is fairly high)... ohh it's gorgeous!!! I'm saving that list!!
There is definitely something to be said for being this clean and organized, but I hope this is never my schedule!! I have too many random time-consuming hobbies that I could just never give up!
Well as i've learned in the last 48 hours, treating yourself to an adorable new apron is amazing motivation!

Aside from that, my vintage housekeeping tips:

Tip #1
BURNING FOOD
When you become distracted and burn your pot of food, turn the heat off immediately, remove all the non-burnt food and transfer into a clean new pot to continue cooking- (without scraping the burnt food into it!), then remove as much of the burnt food as you can, fill the pot with warm water and 2 large handfuls of salt, put on the stove, bring to the boil, then cover and leave overnight. In the morning, bring to the boil again from cold, THEN get to scrubbing. The salt and heat will loosen the charred food remains and make the scrubbing a lot less!

Tip #2:
CHEESE
Cheese is the enemy! Aside from the fat content, it's a real doozy to clean off your pots and pans. When cooking with cheese, ie, lasagna, parmigiana, pizza etc, dinner can wait 3 minutes while you clean the tray/saucepan. It's really easy to remove when warm but incredibly difficult to remove when cold and left for later! Same goes with plates and dishes after dinner, clean them asap!

Hope these help dolls!

Lol, you're hired! I hate ironing. I'd never have un-wrinkled clothing if it weren't for my steamer.
