I've had the same hairstyle for years now and while I would like to keep the length (It's not necessary though) I need a change. I'm open to dying, cutting, curling, straightening, anything to get me out of my hair slump!
It's currently black, down to about mid-back, naturally curly, with straight bangs.
Any help or suggestions would be appriciated,
Thanks!

OH my there is loads you can do!! I know that its really hard to style extra long hair. I personally like to keep mine right around my armpit length with layers and a long bang (below my chin). You are sooo lucky to have curly hair! You can wear it natural, you can wear it straight, you can give your self loose bouncy curls, you can use hotrollers and get those big bouncy soft curls. Curly hair = volume when blown out! You can pin it up, pin up half - play with it! Have you ever looked on you tube for styling help? This is a great resource because you get to see how to do styles on yourself.

A little tip I always share with my clients- With the right amount of protection, a barrell blow dryer found at target is totally my best friend. I can straighten my hair and give large curls that accentuate my layers. I always use it on medium, always on dry hair (i use a regular blow dryer to dry and when its big and poofy I go back in with a barrel brush dryer section by section and smooth and curl) and I ALWAYS have Redken's Iron Repair, Anti Snap, a shine serum and Sheer Straight 06 in my hair prior to using. My only other suggestion- when styling your hair often - be sure to trim those split ends off at least every three months.

XXOO - hope some of this can give you an idea to get out of your slump!!
I used to absolutely hate my hair, it's naturally crap (not curly or straight, just crap), no bangs, down to my waist and real thick, until i became addicted to Youtube pin-up hair tutorials. The best part about all these styles is that the dirtier you hair is, the easier they become! Just search "easy pin up hair", "victory rolls", "retro hairstyles", etc, and go crazy!

The other godsend is 3/4 hair peices. i get mine from Wigfever on Ebay. They're cheap and very high quality, once you get the hang of styling them into your own hair, gorgeous hair is only 10 minutes away every day! they're completely undetectable if you do it right. If you want I can do a tutorial on how to style them in, just let me know.

This is me with one of mine in, even hairdressers didn't notice!

You have a cute face, you could totally rock a short retro bob. But don't whack it off unless you are completely sure it's what you want. The other girls gave great advice. Always always always use a heat protector when styling your hair.
My hair is naturally curly as well, and I'm always experimenting. I rock the Bettie bangs, but I often style them differently as well.

I've tried pin curls, which are very simple to achieve with curly hair.

Barrel curls are simple as well.

Or I just swoop them to the side.

I've hacked off all of my hair since those photos were taken, though. It's now shoulder length. I don't mess with my bangs much these days, but I'll style the rest of it a little differently every day.
Sometimes I'll just put mousse in it and let it dry naturally.

Or I'll straighten it out and curl the ends.

I was really timid when I cut it, but ended up loving it being short. It's simple and sweet, and easy to style. =0]
I love those bangs! I've been wanting bangs but I just haven't committed to it yet.

Ebay my dear! mine clip right in and out

They cost about $10 and you need to style them as generally they come with long sides, sometimes you need 2 on top of each other as I'm wearing in that pic. If you want some let me know and i'll dig you up the ebay store mine came from xox
