Very Confused

While i put this in the "off topic" section its very on topic.

For a while now i have been asking people to come over let me shoot them for free in a pinup style setting, well this has been something I have been looking for volunteers for almost a month. Finally some one agreed to it. A very beautiful young lady that is a family member of one of my friends. She came over and i believe i managed to "prove" my self in this art form.

I had a blast with her, and she is VERY pretty and has the style i was looking for.

Well comments from some of the peanut gallery came in... a question i got from a friend was "is she thick"

WTF!!!! Are you serious? THICK!?!?!?!
SINCE WHEN DID A SIZE 9 START BEING THICK?!?!?!?!?!?

This world is so jaded.... Comments criticism? The pictures are up on my page... i dont think she was "thick" i thought she looked damn good.

who cares what others think. if you and her had a great time shooting, she liked her photos, you enjoyed taking them, that's all that matters.

I took a look at the 2 photos - she's very pretty, not "thick" looking but I think the position is odd. It looks like she has no neck. Next time, play around with the postures and poses. The more you shoot with your models you'll get a better feel for what you are trying to achieve and be able to convey that to your model and help her get the poses to create a knockout pic.

Thanks for the advice, what was posted was just a very small taste of what we did. Being both of our's first time with this style i don't think it was to bad. And i will be working with her in the future, so i am sure we will get more comfortable with each other.

She looks fine to me, especially for a first try. Where I come from "thick" only means stupid, so I was a bit confused myself on first read...but no she looks good, she seems to have very nice skin. Size isnt everything, I am perhaps one or two sizes smaller than this girl and I would not feel comfortable showing my skin like that. Its confidence and attitude that make a pinup girl not pre-set measurements.

Hey thick or curvy, i find it's hardly appreciated by a lot of people out in the world in general and clothes are so hard to find that will fit everywhere. But you know what who cares about that? When it comes down to it people will appreciate it and if they don't then their small minds don't matter. And in pinup it isn't really about size at all, there's no rule for it! GO you! and GO her!!

"Thick" is typically used in a good way by guys.

A girl just might be considered thick if she has a nice ass/waist/thigh combo.

In my own opinion, I'd say she's perfectly thick, meaning hot.

Thanks Edson, She is beautiful that's for sure! Maybe i took it wrong, maybe I didn't. I was really just taken back by the whole comment. Here i am creating "art" and a "friend" throws around that word like its a bad thing. To each there own, that's why I love the pinup world... if your negative about some one's looks it REALLY doesn't matter what you think at that point because you DON'T GET what pinup is all about!

Some people just don't appreciate a gorgeous women with curves. so what that everyone isnt skinny minnie, not everyone likes tiny girls (I'm a small girl myself, and while i do get attention, sometimes my more curvatious friends get the second look over)
I think your gal is perfect!!
She is evenly proportionate, and she looks totally comfortable in her body, which is what really matters. If the person making the "thick" comment doesn't like it, then he doesn't need to comment.

That woman looks awesome in a bikini! If that's thick, then I wanna be thick! I think most people are so used to seeing size 0 models that they're not sure what to think when they see a normal healthy woman! Besides, pinup modeling allows for a woman's curves as opposed to the more mainstream coutoure modeling. I highly doubt that Kate Moss could fill out a corset as well as your model!
