Well I don't know were I should add this discussion, but I wanna know if really matter the music with the style? I mean, I LOVE have the look and attittude of a pin up girl (I'm a kind of modern/retro) but I really really like the hardcore music, heavy metal bands or thrash metal, and I always ask to myself if that really matters?, I like rockabilly and stuff but not so much like the others ... is contradictory of my part be a kind of heavy pin up girl? (haha just kidding).

well let me know what you think

Ps: (sorry for my poor english)

Personally, I don't think it matters one lick what genre of music you enjoy. I doubt anyone here is so hardcore about it that they'd shun you for only "looking the part" (maybe wishful thinking, but I really do doubt it, the people here @PL are rad as all hell)

But if you can't even bring yourself to toe tap to at least SOME rockabilly songs, you're likely inflicted with the Anti-billy bug. The best way to diagnose this rare condition is to YouTube Bill Haley and The Comets "Rock Around the Clock" and if you find yourself statue still throughout, you'll need to be admitted to Dr.Dame's Clinic for the Audibly Impaired for treatment.
hahaha yeah I like so bad a bunch of rockabilly and psychobilly bands, but I said that is not the only kind of music that I like, I mean, I grow up with hard rock and heavy metal, that is a big part of me that I can't deny.

I'm a House DJ :) A clubber at heart but I love me some chop tops and do enjoy traditional rockabilly music.

It's ok to not fit the mold!

yeah, that's what I'm talking about, not to fit the mold :)
I feel all of you I like everything with the exception of country even then I have some country that I do listen to, I guess country is the least fav of them all but I listen to big band, jazz, rockabilly, psychobilly, emo, hardcore, classical and I do mean full orchestra, surfabilly, hip hop, some not all rap, techno mainly bass and drums, love the soul, and that just to name a few. We are all different!
Of course it doesn't matter! Rockabilly music tends to go hand-in-hand with the look, but they are still separate entities! I for one, enjoy 80's hair, classic rock, old school heavy metal, and broadway showtunes! I love to pour myself a nice cup of Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, The Platters, Andrew Sisters, etc. sometimes as well. But I am not even a little bit into the modern rockabilly music scene *shrug*. I don't dislike it, but simply have never really made the effort. I really hope that the Pinup scene isn't so pompous as the Punk scene, where if you dress punk but don't listen to punk music, you're "just a poser." To me, one does not require the other. People like what they like! We should all be ok with that. As Bill and Ted said: "Be excellent to each other!"
Hard house is what i will always love. Good old Techno, will always be with me. Each one of us will always have something we will never let go in music and i dont think that just because you dont listen to Rockabilly you are not apart of the PL family.
Heh, I listen to just about everything under the sun... disco, classic alternative, modern alternative, pop, some metal, techno, trance, doo-wop and hits from the 40's and 50's. Jazz is one of my main loves, as well as overtures. I could listen to movie music all day, if given the chance.
For me, it was listening to rockabilly and psychobilly that brought me into the lifestyle, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that you *have* like the genre of music just to enjoy the style altogether. Different strokes for different folks, as they say. =0]
But, in all honesty, I don't think I would adore rockabilly as much as I do if I hadn't of been introduced to the music in person, rather than hearing a recording. I was brought up in Texas, so Reverend Horton Heat was a commonly known artist. I honestly cannot even count the number of times I've seen him and his band perform. I actually just caught them along with The Nekromantix here in Kansas City on the 13th. <3
To be fair not all punks are douchebags..it depends on what city you go to. Toronto's full of judgemental shitheads unfortunatly..but it's like that in the rockabilly scene too. : (
Vancouver is awesome though..you'll see guys with mohawks and leather jackets at rockabilly shows and vice versa. That's how I got into psychobilly and rockabilly..if there had been a dress code I would've been s*** outta luck with my chelsea hawk and patched up jeans. lol
Anyway like they say in Chile, "en gustos hay nada escrito". To each his own basically..I'd rather have ice picks stuck in my ears then listen to any kinda techno music but that's my thing. I prefer real live musicians playing instruments such as jazz, blues, soul, ska, rockabilly, swing and of course punk rock!!! : P
yeah! en gustos no hay nada escrito! :) good to know your opinion guys.

<- listens to everything..

I'm proud to be an opera-singing, country-loving, techno-thumping, rockabilly Juggalo.
