"We Are The New Vintage"
Tags:
Vintage clothing from the '30s to the early '60s. Reference books on pinup girls. Pencil skirts. Circle skirts. Corsets and good foundation garments. Round toe and peep toe heels. Red lipstick. Black eyeliner. Good foundation makeup. Skinny capris in a dark denim. Make sure all clothes fit you well: not too tight (no muffin tops, no rolls because your bra is cutting in to you or your shirt is too tight...that happens on ANY size woman if it is ill-fitting) and not too loose or baggy. Bring a friend that will be honest with you about it looking nice on you. And remember to develop your own flavor. If you have an era in mind that you are in love with, add that element to the style. And remember that you do NOT have to spend buku bucks to dress nice. You can find a lot of things at thrift stores, estate sales and on ebay. I even have found great retro inspired clothing at urban wear stores and stores like Ross, Wet Seal or Charlotte Russe. Forgot to add that a Little Black Dress is always an essential regardless of style. As well as a white blouse and black heels.
I'm planning on making all my clothes. I don't have the money for it now and I have a chest full of fabric that I can use. Thanks for the tips.
