I just had a shoot on Saturday, wn there was a scufuffle between the photographer and the garage owner that was letting us use his cars, garage, and equipment for the shoot...and she turned it all on me, the model...I'm torn I see both sides of the argument, but in no way do I feel I stepped out of bounds or was un professional, I want to keep my relationship with the photographer while keeping my own integrity and stand up for myself...any advice?

Hmm without knowing what happened it's hard to give any advice.

Maybe the photographer was insecure and tried to put the blame on you instead of taking care of the problem herself.
That sounds very unprofessional!
Was this a big thing or a small disagreement?

Sometimes I feel the best thing is just to let go cause some people cause so much drama and take your energy.

Maybe you get tell the photographer that you feel insulted by the way you where treated at the shoot? That you just want to clean the air and also tell her that there is no hard feelings and give the photographer your side of things?
Like, "hey what happened at the shoot really made me uncomfortable and from my point of view this is what happened....(insert your story and what you feel was wrong) I just wanted to let you know my side and I hope you can understand what I mean. No hard feelings, lets move forward and leave this behind us from now on... etc etc

I hope it works out whatever you decide to do! :)
You are the model or talent the set up for the shoot is the responsability of the photographer or the photo assistant not yours! If you have a problem with the photographer being unprofessional then thats too bad, but ultimately you are only the model not the fallgirl.......

Ahhh. I myself have had her fair share of difficult photographers. You weren't too specific with what exactly happened, but I do agree with Lee. Also, keep your image clean... if there was tension between the photographer and the garage owner, let them work it out. As Lee said, it's the photographers responsibility to iron out all the kinks before the shoot begins.

Speaking from experience, as soon as a photographer gives you grief, dump them. That's what I've done. Photographers are everywhere, it's up to you to weed out the good from the bad.

I hope everything works out hun.

XO
thanks to everybody for the response, I think it's time for me to move on to other photographers who are a bit more humble, that or have a reason to be big headed...love you all
I'd love to hear how this turned on you? No need to name names but somehow im sure would is an interesting story if you ended up to blame and a photographer was fighting with the ride owner...
ok Edson C; here's the story,

the photographer asked me if I'd do a photo shoot with some old classic cars, just for fun I said yeah, and she asked if I knew of anybody...I did so I went to the garage and asked if they'd let us do a shoot there, and they said yeah, if they could put a couple of the pics on their website ( also advertising the photographer on the site) They also said they'd love to send my pics to a few classic car mags or ratrod mags with the name of the photographer clearly credited of course.
Well, I emailed the photographer, and called and gave her the info to contact the garage owner to set up the shoot...she never ever called them. She specifically agreed to what I told her, and specifically asked me to organize the shoot...
so Saturday, I walk in and she's telling the owner that she'd only give him three prints, and he could use them on the web if he wanted but no to any magazines...and the owner told her, that it was unfair, she's the only one getting anything out of the shoot...basically standing up for me and she told the guy that I stepped in and acted as the go between without her consent and knowledge (which is honestly, a lie...she knew all along) so, then after doing the shoot for about 4 hours, she left me a scathing voice mail about how unprofessional I am...but I was.
I've never been paid by her for my time, She's never had me sign a contract for the public use of my image, I'm on her website, and her business cards...I've spent quite a bit of money on my outfits for shoots and stuff, as well as time. I like to pride myself on class and integrity as a person and a model, I believe I acted that way...I won't use her anymore, and learned allot as a model about how to protect myself from being taken advantage of.

Ahhh yes, i've heard this one before unfortunately. Lesson to be learned here,

MODELS, NEVER EVER EVER WORK OUT LOGISTICS ON BEHALF OF THE PHOTOGRAPHER!

If they don't have the business sense or social skills to take a phone number or email address and contact someone blindly to coordinate location use, they aren't worth working with.

Should have gone like this:

Photog: Do you know a garage we can use?

Model: Yes.

Photog: Wonderful, could you provide contact info please?

Model: Sure! John Doe, 222-222-2222

Photog: Thanks! I'll work out the logistics and let you know how it goes.

That should be as involved as a model should ever need to be in her shoot. Sucks that happened and good to know you've seen the light doll.
Edson is COMPLETELY correct here. It's not YOUR job to work out logistics. It's your job to look pretty and smile for the camera. How very unprofessional of your photog! And good for you for moving on!
