Pencil skirts and wiggle dresses on a (very) bottom-heavy figure?

So, I am wondering--having a very bottom heavy figure (my measurements being 34-30-40)--would wearing pencil skirts and wiggle dresses make me look more unbalanced? Is there any tips anyone has for balancing my upper half?

While I am a fan of swing dresses and own a couple; they just don't have the same.. "oompf" as wiggle dresses or pencil skirts, if you get what I mean..

Can anyone suggest a pencil skirt or a wiggle dress that would be good? Or just your favourite ones?

I have noticed that there is a definite trend in guys going "oooh la la" over curvy girls again. It's nice to see...I'm a VERY curvy dame, and I loooove my curves (so does the hubby, by the way)

I'm just glad that we're going back to our caveman roots.....the thicker the better....it's sexy, and healthy.

I'm totally into the series on HBO called Rome...and one of the lines in the show got me rolling with laughter (and applause) : a man was going to see his wife, whom he hadn't seen in 8 years...and his mate says

"are you nervous? I mean...what if she's gotten THIN?"

PRICELESS
Definitely wear the wiggle dress with a body shaper underneath to smooth everything out and Wha'la! Nothing is more attractive on a women than confidence. Men love curves it keeps their eyes an hands busy. Go Get someone love drunk off your lovely lady lumps!
Thank you very much for your responses, everyone! You've instilled some confidence in me; so (as soon as I have the money...) I will be splurging in a pencil skirt or two to "Ba Bam" in!
Thanks again--you're a lovely bunch of dames =]

Yay for you!!! **puts hands on hips** BA BAM!
I noticed that trend about 6 years ago when I started going out at night again (after a hiatus of about 5 years for kids, etc.) and even with a wedding ring on I had more male attention than I ever had when I was younger, and I was 40 pounds lighter than I am now! Maybe with maturity comes a male appreciation of curves, or maybe it's just the curves that cause more male attention?

Yeah, it's actually interesting to find out how many guys actually find curvy women more attractive!

I can vouch that there are MANY! I used to go to LA with my friend who is a model who weighs 118 pounds, and she and her model friends were always amazed how I got so much more action than they did when we'd go out. I don't know if it is the curves, or the attitude. Maybe a combination of both.

Always remember; If you've got it, flaunt it! Just think of how lucky you are, some girls have to fake it, that's one less step for you.
