Help: what size of alligator pinch clips are appropriate for flowers?

i want to start to make my own because stores have outrages prices..so im asking to helping me out..so what size of alligator pinch clips are appropriate for flowers? does any size matter?

The hair flowers we sell have clips that are 1 1/2" in both barrette and alligator clip styles. The alligator clips hold better in fine hair.

It depends on the size of the flower and if the clips are for shorter thinner hair or longer thicker hair. My club makes hair flowers and sells them at rockabilly and car shows to help raise money for Booze Broads and Hotrods. We use the longer "alligator" clips for double flowers and large flowers. The shorter, two pronged, "alligator" clips for smaller flowers and single flowers. You can purchase the clips at a beauty supply or drug store. They are sold to hold rollers in the hair or do pin curls, so you find them in the curler section.
