Hopefully you've heard of what happened over the weekend in Chile. If not go to a news website. I'm just thanking God that my family is alright. And I'm hoping that Chile will recover soon. If you can please help out and if you can't at least take a moment to consider how lucky you are to not suffer through a natural disaster like that. It can happen to ANYONE. So take nothing for granted and try to be kind to those around you, that's what really matters in the end.

my thoughts and prayers go out to those people. your right, you should never take anything in life for granted because it came be taken away in the blink of an eye. its like brandon lee said in The Crow, " Nothing in life is trivial." im glad your family is ok as well.
Thank you..yes, people in North America don't know how good they have it. People need to remind themselves to be thankful for what they have..it can be taken away so easily. And yeah I realize I'm so lucky that no one in my family died or was seriously hurt. You never know what could've happened so I'm grateful for that.

I have a feeling the people in New Orleans might disagree with you. Or the people who lived in San Francisco back in '89. Living in North America has nothing to do with it. Disasters can happen anywhere. No matter where they are, or who it happens too it's terrible.

No matter the place or people, just be grateful it wasn't you. Live each day to it's fullest and always be grateful for what you have. That is the lesson we should take from all this.
I was NOT refering to people who HAVE experienced natural disasters. I was refering to average folks who have NEVER expereinced a crisis like that.

I was here in '89. My mother had no power or water for a week and had to come to my house to shower. She lost her glass china hutch and her television when it bounced in the middle of the room. Luckily her house was on a hill and on stilts so it could sway with the earthquake. A lot of houses in her neighborhood came off their foundations and had to be rebuilt. She lived about 8 miles from the epicenter.

I was here in '89 too. Watching Silver Spoons, lol. My grandma was driving across the Bay bridge when it hit. She said she saw the cars falling in her rear view mirror. I hope and pray I never have to do that again.

Anita, I might have know what you meant if you had actually typed that, but instead you generalized and said "people in North America don't know how good they have it". That seems like you are saying all people here. We are not mind readers, we don't know what you "mean" we only know what you type. Maybe in the future you could type what you mean to say, that way there won't be any confusion.
