Whats your fav. Retro Diner Dish?

Hey there all! Well some of you know I'm a big dessert girl, but I'm also a huge fan of classic style diner food.so I was wondering whats everyones favorite diner food? I live in L.A. and there aren't any (that I know of), True blue classic diners out here. so I love to here of all the great foods you all have tried and where the best diners can be found!

What's not to like sliced ham, sliced turkey, swiss cheese, white bread - all egg battered and fried. Topped with powdered sugar and whipped cream or fruit.

You're right, Denver is fairly scanty on diners. I like Pete's Kitchen for the food, and the Breakfast King for the atmosphere. The Breakfast King could be a set for a Tarantino movie!
I had the best chocolate malt at Smashburger, believe it or not.

I love breakfast food and I like to get it all day long diner style! With cheese and grits and maple bacon! Unfortunately there aren't any old diners here in Asheville that do that (or none that I've found). So sad...I would keep them in business!

When I was 16 worked in an old diner with a soda bar. We made cherry coke just like that. In fact, you had to put the coke syrup into the soda.
My classic fav is a plain old grilled cheese and fries like I used to get as a kid at the food counter in the Woolworth's store. Because I'm Canadian, it comes with a side of gravy.

Our local retro diner is about a ten minute walk from my college which is just dangerous for my bank balance. They do amazing breakfasts for £5.95: stack of pancakes, maple syrup, hash browns, bacon (I toss that onto my friend's plate haha) and as much coffee as you can drink! Mmm could do with some of that right now!

when i was a little girl my mom used to pack me turkey sandwhiches in my lunch, i haven't had one since i was about 8. this sounds so good i think i need to go try one again. =)

I have to say mine is the milkshake. I'm a total milkshake whore (chocolate specifically)! It doesn't matter if it's a diner, a fast food place, or an up-scale restaurant, if they make chocolate milkshakes I WILL ORDER ONE! I can never have enough of chocolate shakes! My problem now is that I've become something of a snob when it comes to chocolate shakes...I'm picky about them XD

Aside from that, pancakes, WAFFLES, hashed browns, cheeseburgers, and FRIES FRIES FRIES! Yummy greasy starchy diner food XD

its all about milkshakes, as i said earlier but i can't believe i forgot about the fries! i love any kind, the greasier the better!! steak fries, seasoned, crunchy, soft, i don't care. you can even stick some hash browns or curly fries on that list and i don't mind. =)
