Sushi Lovers?!?!?!

who are all the sushi lovers here?? what are your favorites??? i personally LOVE tako, uni & unagi. i can eat unagi till i explode!!! if you're in Vegas we have a few good sushi places in town.

Well, you know I love sushi, and I'm so taking you out for it when we meet! I love anything with unagi and kani in it or on it. And rolls that have "personality". Nothing boring!

I'm not always keen on the more modern rolls (what Roxy calls 'personality'), too much sauce/stuff makes the sushi too complicated. I like a nice simple nigiri. Maguro being my personal favorite, with sake, tako, ika, tamago, and unagi following close behind.

I'm always willing to try something new though (twice, to account for culture shock the first time).

Frog sashimi anyone? (sorry for the terrible picture, it was the best I could find)

speaking of trying new foods. my wife is half filipino and managed to get me some balut (18 or so day old duck embryo). i'd be lying if i said it didnt taste good. it was like chicken & a hardboiled egg combined. one you get past the visual factor (the embryonic fluid, the beak, the veins, the hairs & so forth) you're good to go.

I'm not adventurous enough to try fog sashimi or duck embryo! And I haven't tried anything raw...yet. I love California rolls and anything with eel. We don't have a decent sushi place in town, so I don't eat it too often. There is an awesome restaurant in Rohnert Park called Hana that has YUM YUM food! The Dragon Roll is to die for!

believe me. duck embryo's are not my first choice on a menu. ive had frog legs but never frog sashimi!! another thing i like doing is go in blindly and tell them to surprise me with a mystery roll.

Sushi! Yum! I can't have sushi one week without having cravings a few days later. I like sashmi and baked mussles. Who can go wrong with fish and mayo?
If you're looking for a place in Vegas, I recommend SushiMon on Maryland Pkwy and Silverado Ranch. It a trip away from the strip, but only $30 for all you can eat, freshly prepared sushi. Its nice to not have to spend a ton on dinner and still get something delicious.

I'm a pro by now, I bring my own chopsticks!

SushiMon is about 5 minutes away from me. i've been there a few times. i'm a regular at Island Sushi on Eastern across the street from Wendys.

It's a little h*** in the wall but they have all you can eat sushi and entrees for $15. The food is great and it's never that crowded so the chef will make WHATEVER special roll you can think of. Me personally I'm down with just about any roll as long as it's spicy!!!!
