Ok, upon further research:

This video is officially a parody

However, the real thing can be found amidst the limitless internet just like everything else can (from balloon fetishists to cats playing the piano). Looks like the biggest avatar communities are on Second Life, no word yet on if the Live version is actually out there... um... communing with nature.

Things like this make me ashamed of how geeky I am, lol.
