Hi everybody! :) I was hoping you guys could help me....I'm having my first photo shoot next month with a local photographer. It's not paid or anything....just to build both of our portfolios. He says he's never done a pin up style shoot before--and neither have I. So I have a ton of questions lol! What would you guys recommend I wear? And how should I style my hair? He said he might have a hair stylist he knows come along but just in case....and he said to come up with some ideas for the shoot as well. I'm just overwhelmed--it seems like there are so many possibilities. I'd like to know what you lovely ladies and photographers think, please? I'd love your insight!
Thanks so much!
Sunny :)
What to wear? How to do your hair?
I think it's "simple", why not have a look at the featured pictures here on PL for inspiration? They have been featured because they have something extra.
When it comes down to it you need to look at what you have at home and what YOUR taste is.
Do you wanna do lingerie or more dressed shots? ( I recommend to go with a dress for your first shoot).
If you had the idea to do a shoot I'm sure you have your own ideas on what you wanna do?
Will it be on location or studio?
My best advice is to look at pictures of models out there that you like and classic pinup paintings.
Choose a lovely dress, practice hair if you do it yourself, pick out accessories and look at classical poses.
Look around the forum, not only has this been asked before, but just reading past posts will give you tons of ideas. Also, as Tifa said, spend some time looking through the photos, especially the featured. The inspiration you can get just from looking at them is amazing!
Thanks guys! I'm still really nervous...but I feel better about it now :) I'll keep looking for cool ideas on here-there so many! You guys are really inspirational....I hope I do a good job. Thanks again for all your help!
The key to a great shoot is being comfortable and confident. So choose an outfit that you feel sexy and comfortable in. Nervousness and uncertainty come through in photos so take some deep breaths, relax, and most importantly, have fun!
