How do ya'll feel about models who have this done? I feel like it's becoming more common place and I have breast implants, so I'm not going to judge. But I know alot of people feel like it doesn't have a place in pin-up modeling and I do understand why.

This is a topic sure to cause a stir.....but a great one!

My real opinion? I think some girls take it too far. It's not the fact that they have plastic surgery, it's how much you show. I have nothing against implants at all, I have friends who have them and I am fans of pinups who have them as well.

I choose not to get plastic surgery, and that is my own personal choice. I made that decision way before I got into pinup. I won't lie though, all the highly-exposed altered breasts I am starting to see in pinup is very daunting for a girl like me with natural, small ones. Part of the reason I became interested in this type of modeling was because I felt a B cup wouldn't be a problem.

I think the industry has changed, and Hollywood is creeping up and rearing it's ugly head, not just in pinup/rockabilly but many other subcultures as well. Do I feel that I will have to work twice as hard as a girl with implants? YES, I do.

So to wrap it up: Plastic surgery? NOT wrong. Alot of people have good reasons to get it. I especially can understand it from the point of view of women who have had kids or have issues with breast symmetry, etc.

In pinup?: Keep it (and yourself) tasteful!
I couldn't have said this ANY better. Great response!

I personally have a problem with the big half-a-cantaloupe-looking implants that a lot of girls get. Even Barbie's boobs don't look like that! The cleavage is weird looking.
And from a fitting standpoint, you can't fit on girls with implants. Clothes just don't fit right.
It's sad that a lot of girls think they have to do that to be successful.
Boob jobs are gross, they never look good, EVER! And we can always tell that they are fake, well at least us women can!
I think girls with Breast Implants look great, after recently having a baby, and things heading South, I'm certainly considering it!! xox
Not a boob guy myself, but what is sexy for me isn't size, its not bigger the better, its proportion and lines. I want natural cleavage lines, not a right angle at the chest. No ass? Don't get giant tits just because it hurts less, think about your side profile and not just your view when you look down.

Now, If only more women were hyped up about getting nice ass implants...
I fully plan on getting work done, when I need it. A little nip here, a tuck there, I have nothing against it. In fact, there are many people out there who with a little work, could help make this planet a prettier place! As for plastic surgery in pin up, I think it's a personal choice, but the reality is that is has probably always been there. Since plastic surgery was looked down upon, many stars had it done in secret, most of the time payed for by the studios they worked for. There is no way that we can know for sure that our favorite pin ups from the past didn't have a little work done here and there.
Now, I can speak only for myself. But my boob job was one of the best things I've ever done for myself. As mentioned on other threads, I'm a big girl with a big frame and I'm 100 percent okay with that. But having small breasts did not fit my body type and it was the only real issue with my appearance. I love the way I look now and that total confidence has helped me in all aspects of my life. I understand people who are against cosmetic enhancement, but it's done nothing but good for me in my life.

However, I'm not a model and I have no interest in being a model. But some of my favorite pinups have had work done. Now, there's a few who have gone a little too far with it and now have that blow up doll look. So that is the stopping point for me. You need to still look like a woman, not a Barbie doll. And I say that as someone who has Anna Nicole Smith and Jayne Mansfield as style iconics. LOL
I think if the person is really down about their body then get some work done! If it makes you feel good then why the hell not?! I had my teeth fixed when I was younger (I got into a fight and chipped all my teeth haha) and my smile is much better now and I love to show it off!

Personally and at the moment, I can't see myself wanting to get anything done, but if I did have anything done it would actually be to have my boobs reduced! I'm quite a skinny girl but my boobs are a 32E and I can see myself having back problems when I'm older, so maybe then I'll get them reduced.

Other than that I think a lot of problems can be solved with a little bit of healthy living, confidence and self belief!
Certainly. But my problem wasn't one of those and I'm glad I live in a day and age that I could do something about it. of course because I'm a big girl, most people never assume I've had work done.

I do understand why people feel the way they do about it. I used to love Masumi, but do I think she's gone a little far with the surgery. She doesn't even look like the same person anymore. And it's not something that would be readily available back in pin-up's hayday the way it is now.
Agreed!

Bunny, you are certainly excluded from the girls who I think we are all talking about. Your situation is WAY different. I completely understand your view, and I think you had a perfectly good reason to make that descision, and I am glad it has helped you! I wish more ladies would choose plastic surgery for the reasons you did.....rather than wanting to look like a "blowup doll" (as described above)

I was not going to name names, but since you went there......I am on the same page about Masuimi, WAY too far! At the same time, she seems to have crossed over more into the fetish side of things, so I think that is the look she is going for.

Not to hate or put her down, but a funny story about the "blowup doll"...... I was on Pinupgirlclothing.com one time, and my husband and also a friend were in the living room when they saw a picture of her on there...... and they laughed their a**** off! They said the way she was posed and her surgery made her look like a blowup doll!! SO you know if even guys are dissaproving, then, enough said.....Again I am not trying to be mean, so no one flame me please, I just thought the story fit the subject.

SO back to my point, like I said before, alot of girls have a good reasons to go under the knife an there are some great examples posted in here. But being skinny and already having a "C" cup complaining about being fat and flat-chested, wanting lipo and implants? Hogwash!!!
