Pencil skirts and wiggle dresses on a (very) bottom-heavy figure?

So, I am wondering--having a very bottom heavy figure (my measurements being 34-30-40)--would wearing pencil skirts and wiggle dresses make me look more unbalanced? Is there any tips anyone has for balancing my upper half?

While I am a fan of swing dresses and own a couple; they just don't have the same.. "oompf" as wiggle dresses or pencil skirts, if you get what I mean..

Can anyone suggest a pencil skirt or a wiggle dress that would be good? Or just your favourite ones?

Try Stop Staring, they go some long sleeved, off the shoulder ones, and I think that the emphasis on the shoulders balances out the bottom half.

But hon, you dont sound that bottom heavy... you sound nice and proportionate for a pin-up gal! Its all about the curves! Dont be so hard on yourself!

if you have a 40" ass you need to be showing that baby off, not hiding it under swing skirts!

My measurements are 36- 27 -42 which is bottom heavy by anyones standards and I used to be so sad i didnt look good in the whole jean/t-shirt combo - it just cut me in half and didnt emphasise my best bits. Then I met my man who showed me that curves, and bits that stick out on ladies are the best! Honestly, its what makes us girls - and as for the top half, we can just cheat!!

I have 2 open bottom ones, one is highwaisted and one is natural waisted. Both with a side zip. I have a lot of strapless or halter dresses so I don't do the corsellette body girdle. I don't want my bra straps showing, and since I am bottom heavy, the bra part usually doesn't fit me properly.

I have the same problem, my bust is 40, waist 34 and hips are a whopping 48...I wear pencil skirts and get just as much male attention as the girl with a 36-26-36 figure. I think if you are comfortable with the way you look, it says more than your measurements. I had one man tell me recently, while I was wearing a pencil skirt, that he had been admiring me from behind and just had to meet me.

Mode Merr is a great site for high wasted pencil skirts that have enough stretch to hug your curves. I also wear a girdle to keep me firm under the pencil skirt.

Errrr, is it bad that I did too? LOL I loved betty since i was tiny, f***, I just made the connection to my love for pinups and it goes back further than I thought...holy s***.

Wear what you want when you want. Who cares about anyone else! I was watching Oprah a long time ago and I believe it was Nora Ephron (famous romantic comedy director) who said you should wear a bikini until your 30 and never take it off! You might be self conscious about certain things now that you will laugh at yourself about later. You will wish you had those measurements still 20 years from now!
It's all about confidence, that is what makes a woman sexy or attractive and intimidating to other women. I have been on shoots with other models who say they are intimidated by my body.
Now about helping with some illusions, just do what the others previously said, padded bra, attention grabbingn details at the neckline. Even wearing a large belt over the pencil skirt, these all make it look like your waist is tiny, not like your butt/thighs are big. And guys love to see a true feminine shape.

I know! some of the skirts today dont leave anything to the imagination, there was a girl walking across a cross walk the other night and i thought i was going to see her crotch her skirt was so short! it scared me for her to drop something or to go in any other position ecxept standing!

From a guy's point of view... an older guy... (I have the advantage over most of you - I was a young man when the entire retro business was today!).. I have to say that pencil skirts told me that here was a woman happy with herself and her attractiveness.
I would often walk half a mile out of my way following a woman whose skirt was so tight, I could see the bumps of her suspender (oooops, garter belt) clips on her upper thigh. Really tight, I could see the garter belt straps themselves and I'd walk two miles.

i'm bottom heavy from a front view and when i turn sideways there's NOTHING THERE.
so i really like pencil skirts because they kind fo distract you from ym lack of ass because you're still thinkin bout my killer hips.
