OK, so this is the first one I've started. So here's my problem. . . .

I have recently had my hair trimmed .. . . .she got alittle over-zealous. Can I still go retro-cool with a too-short pixie? I was trying to get one of those crazy Rihanna pixies going, which I had for awhile, and then a smallish heat-wave took over in late September. So---on average---how long will it take to get at least three good inches up on top, and is there anything I can do besides vitamin treatments to coax things along a bit? Thanks to all!

Oh man, I have done extensive research on growing hair faster. I damaged my hair with bleach to the point of having to cut it very short, and am still in the process of growing it out now.

They say, and this is pretty reliable info, that for a normal healthy person, hair grows at about a 1/2 an inch a month. So for 3 inches, lets say it might take you about 6 months.

My hair has been growing a little faster then that, and my regimen is babying my hair. I mean really talking care of it. No blow drying or flat ironing, and if I absolutely have to use heat tools I use a protector (like CHI Iron Guard). A leave-in conditioner also helps. Redken's "Crema Care" is awesome. Use professional shampoos and conditoners if it is within your means. Redken's "Real Control" line has really helped my hair to be healthier and grow like the wind.

A 100% boar bristle brush will also help with lessening breakage and helps distribute your scalp's natural oils throughout your hair.

A shampoo brush.....LOVE it! It stimulates your scalp.

As far as a vitamin regimen I take prenatal vitamins and 5000 mgs of Biotin a day. There is a brand called "Nature Made" that makes a liquid version of Biotin, it's 2500 mcg so take two a day.

Good luck!
Thanks, Sue and Kristi! Kristi, I know about the whole 1/2-inch-a-month thing, and I'm doing some stuff with vitamins now. Sue, thanks for the pin-curls link! Now THAT I might be able to do! I'm hoping to rock a pompadour by June, for a graduation ceremony at my school. I always try to look good for my students. Thanks girls, and have a rockin' day!
