Have you tried any product to keep the curl in before you put the rollers in or whilst they are in? Also, are you doing this on clean hair? Curls need coarse hair to stay in and so hair that hasn't been washed for a day works best.

Here is a video I found helpful that was recently posted on youtube; I mentioned this channel in another post ("I want pin up hair!" I think it was) and she really knows her stuff =D

My set of rollers is so old I don't even know what they are! My grandmother - a hairdresser - gave them to me and they are such amazing little things!

I use velcro rollers and I sleep in them to give my hair volume and curl. They dont leave a curl and you can easily touch the curls up with a curling iron to get the finish you want. I get my rollers at the supermarket too! and they are not that expensive if you want to give them a shot.
This is my favorite set: Remington TStudio Tourmaline Heated Clip Hair Setter, 20 Rollers

I got mine at walmart. They work great, and almost no creases.

But I still like my sponge rollers best, and of course my curling iron.
These are the ones that have too...they are great for curls but mine leave a crease :(

Something to try...
If you have some foil and a flat iron... you can pin curl small sections of hair - cover each individual curl with foil - apply the flat iron for 10 to 20 seconds. allow to completely cool before removing foil.

This will give you a pin curl without indentations quickly.

This is a great if you run out of hot rollers or have hair to short in places to wrap.
velcro rollers...
set dry/damp hair with a mix of gel, and mousse... 30-40mins without heat... 20-with heat.... no lines, and a CRiSP curl... try it
I always use clips that have a "claw" like grip that goes between the hair to clip my hot rollers in. I don't use the clips that came with the set because of the "crease." You can buy the claw like clips in sets of 20 for a few bucks at a beauty supply store.
I also have a set of curlers I bought at a beauty supply store that has 10 small rollers. I like the small rollers because the curl stays longer in my hair when I use them.
