What should I focus my work on?

I am going to have a small studio set up soon for my photography and I need your opinion!

I have done a few different ares of photography from weddings to sexy pinup. I really like doing everything but I love the glam of pinup. I want to focus on pinup and was wondering if you thinks it's something I should focus on.

Thank you for your comment, I thought I had to specialize in only one subject but you have really helped me think clearer on this subject.

I think I will specialize in portrait even though I do love landscapes as well and would still like to show my work, so having another website just for that would be better.

The thing is...that my husband and I run our company together, we are a media company called Lucas Media Productions. We do wedding video, mobile D.J. service, web design, and photography.

I do all of the photography and I call myself Brooke of L.M.P. So, do you think It would be wise to have my own website with my name and what I offer instead of combining all of it together on one website?

It's a wonderful thing to focus on. Of course, from a financial standpoint, it's good to keep around some bread and butter stuff (like weddings).

You are so right! I need to do a wedding soon and keep them coming! I have only done one wedding so far in my career as a photographer. What's the best way to advertise? Get my name out there?

Well, since you only have one wedding under your belt, I might suggest local papers, that sort of thing. Once you've done a couple and have a portfolio built up, lots of places have bridal magazines you could try getting into. Check out jewelery stores, places like that. They tend to have them. Also, never underestimate the power of word of mouth.

I liked the shots with the girl in the pink towel. I think you should focus on doing more in that style of shooting. Also I liked the shots you had with the more relaxed posing.
