IN NEED OF DESPERATE HELP!!

Im guessing a few of you ladies make your own costumes.

So....finally i have the day off and time to fix my sewing machine...

But i cant fix it!!
I've taken it all apart, cleaned oiled and replaced the tension belt but the thread take up lever wont budge when i turn the balance wheel on the side.

This is a Royal pain in the arse as i have to alter a costume for a performance tonight (nevermind the avalanch of clothes i have to alter to fit)

does anyone know what to do? Or do i have to hunt through the telephone directory (yellow pages) for someone else to repair it?

Still not fixed! :( I 've been tempted to buy a new one cheap if i cant get it fixed as i have new costumes to put together!
