Personally I hate them. I think they look cheap. I don't think they are sexy, either. I absolutely hate seeing pin-ups in retro hair and wardrobe wearing stripper shoes.

There, I said it!

I've seen the tip slot ones before. I've even seen some with lights.

Woooooooow. I have never seen a "tip" slot before. Yikes!
I agree -- I am not a fan of the stripper shoe. I do love my heels - but like Seanna said...HUGE difference. I will even use the word hate. I hate stripper shoes.

....I wonder how much money you can fit in one of those tip slots.
This thread is a hoot! I can see the conection between lucite heels and retro but this glass brick stripper slipper doesn't cut it. How about some real stripper shoes?

I'm all down for stripper shoes, but seriously, its about the best tool for the job like computers lol...
I don't agree. I have a platform shoe fetish... you don't know what you're talking about. I'm a fetishist and extreme high heels are always amazing. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
how many bills or how much money, if they are all high end bills, alot of mullah!

If you wear them with a latex dress, great...but I don't like to see stripper shoes worn with a vintage reproduction dress or vintage style. To me, it ruins the look, and as I said before, cheapens the integrity of the pin-up photo. I don't like them no matter what, even with fetish wear, but that is my personal style.

I have to agree with the aforementioned comments, its all about the style. If you are a true blue vintage traditional pin up model, stripper shoes are a little rediculous. But if you're modern.. anything goes... personally I think they are unattractive... but at one point in time i thought gothic, kneee high, platform boots were cool... who am I to judge.
i agree with a tip slot being just absolutely horrible, but i think the rest of this post is really negative.
we're not in the 40s here, it's a new time and even with going vintage i think it's normal to add a twist from your own time.
i don't think it's absolutely necessary for your entire look to be from this particular time period, and if you're a fan of those big stillettos - go for it.
this reminds me of an episode of daria (oh yeah 90s mtv) where Jane was dating a guy was really vintage and one night he got on her ass for wearing a 30s dress with 40 shoes and he said it cheapened the look until she pointed out he was wearing a zoot suit to go to a 60s tiki bar. where do you even get zoot suits?
anyways...
i think there's just so many ways of doing the vintage thing that everyone will have their own spin on it.
I wasn't saying that super-high platform shoes are "bad" in any way. I like 'em, and I like wearing 'em. But IF the look I'm going for is classic retro, they're not gonna be part of the ensemble.

And you can get beautiful zoot suits from suavecitos.com, if you're interested. :)

Hey, wear what you want. You will never catch me in stripper shoes because I think they are ugly. My personal style, my personal taste.
