Winter PinUps

Last year, I was pondering how to convert out pinup wear when it starts getting cold outside.
Cardigans, high waisted trousers,jeans, and dress coats are a definite option...but most of the websites still have halters, sundresses, and capris...any suggestions or websites for retro styling for colder weather?

I love wearing all kinds of amazing wool tights underneath skirts and such. One of my favorite websites for tights and hosiery in general is http://www.sockdreams.com

I've also been a big fan of Mod Cloth. Don't let the title fool you, many of the pieces are wearable for us modern pinups, especially the coats and skirts. I like the quality as well.

Hey I am a shopper on a budget if you keep an eye on Payless you can find some cute vintage style shoes and boots for a cute price.I know you wouldn't think about them uhh.lol

I disregard the chicago winters and always find myself in skirts or dresses with a flirty pair of heels. =)

I am looking forward to it getting cold...my friend gave me a vintage 50s batwing red sweater that has white angora around the little collar. It will look perfect with jeans and cowboy boots

Coats are an AMAZING and [i feel] often overlooked opportunity to look FABULOUS. I just love the way lucille ball looked in that long-awaited mink coat with her little gloves and her little hat and her little clutch!! My fitted peacoat from last winter has seen its last snowfall, and I am so excited to shop for a new one.

sockdreams is definitely cute for tights and stuff, i've been on there a few times myself, and I'm looking forward to perusing some of these other sites.

I'm with you. Chicago snow sucks. I put away my peep toes, grab the tights, and Im out the door.. It's really all you can do besides the occasional cowboy boot and fuzzy hat!!
Also I am -right now- toying with a few sweater patterns... I want to do a limited run of like.. 50 or so sweaters and then have some staples..I don't want to shoot my mouth off.. but i want to have them ready by Christmas.. Vintage patterns and fuzzy materials.. I've found TO DIE FOR one of a kind vintage pins and embellishments.. OH MY GOD am i excited.. Ill definitely post them in the marketplace when they're done!
