So I'm standing in the shower getting ready for work, thinking about what I just posted on my blog and I say to myself...... In my haste to get my point across, I may have not entirely done just that.

SO...

I'm NOT saying expensive gifts can't have meaning too.

Your boyfriend wants to be a tattoo artist so you buy him all the equipment he needs. Your sister is a single mom with no transportation to get to work so you help her buy a used car. You know your girlfriend's favorite flowers are tiger lillies so you ship her a floral arrangement.

Obviously gifts that cost money can also be meaningful as long as you put thought behind them and are not just doing it or expecting it because of the price tag.

ALL I was trying to say before I got diarrhea of the mouth was:

I think too often people start expecting or giving presents because our society has set a standard and idea of HOW gift giving should be... ESPECIALLY regarding holidays and it becomes superficial.

OR......

Maybe I am COMPLETELY full of crap and talk WAY too much!!!

Nope I think you definitely hit the nail on the head! And I totally agree, being someone who never has the money to get the expensive gifts! Smart girl :D
