The graham cracker is named after it's inventor Rev. Sylvester Graham as a thin digestive biscuit made primarily of a combination of white and coarse wheat flours. It was originally intended as a health food that was prescribed in order to curb ones "carnal urges". You see, Rev. Graham thought that eating bland foods would curb ones sexual appetites. It wasn't until years later that people started added spices to his "Graham Biscuits" in order to make them more palatable, thereby creating the sinful pleasures we know today.
