The word "mummy" comes from the Arabic word mumiya which means bitumen. Bitumen is also called pitch and is a black tar like substance that can be found in mountains in the Middle East. Hellraiser!
Many viewers have commented about the poor quality of the FX at the end of the movie. Evil Dead!
During the scene where Ash had the chainsaw in the shed, about to cut up his girlfriend, he actually had to use a real chainsaw, holding it up to the actress' chest. You can see on the close-up of Linda's neck (looking at the necklace) that her pulse is racing.

Depending on the circumstances of your final resting place, it's possible that you may turn into soap after you die.
