Back from Indy!!

I just got back tonight from Indianapolis. Omg! It was a crazy 2 days!!

I left work yesterday, telling a little white lie to my boss so that she would call someone else in to work for me since Aveda had called me VERY last-minute to let me know they wanted me in the shoot.

So, with my bags already packed I was bookin' it all the way up there, despite the ice storm and the idiot drivers.

The group of stylists and makeup artists were sooooo nice! And the photographer, Babak (www.babak.ca - you should check him out! he's amazing!!!!) was pretty much insane, which made him all the better to work with.

Anyway, so they color and trim my hair up (nothing drastic) and curl the hell out of it. And then POOF the hell out of it. It was a REALLY cute hairstyle ... nothing I'd actually take the time to do myself or anything, but I liked it. Shooting didn't take long, and Babak loved working with me.

He loved working with me so much in fact he told one of the major hair designers, Daniel, that I was to replace another model in Wednesday's shoot for the Avant Gard look.

So, instead of making me drive all the way back to Cincy to drive all the way back, Aveda bought me dinner and put me up in a nice hotel around the corner.. loaned a whole bag of beauty products to me for the night.. it was a very relaxing night after a looonnnggg day of prepping and shooting.

Today's shoot went fairly smoother. I got to wear this big wig-thing .. I don't even know how to describe it. It was really cool though. I was done shooting before 7, but Babak wanted me to play with some headshots. So, the staff kinda helped me out by washing and drying and styling my hair real quick, and I re-did my makeup to be a little more normal... :/

Overall, it was a total BLAST. I had so much fun! It was totally worth not going to work :)

That is so fabulous- I'm glad you had a great experience. I've had a few friends model for them, and they all said they had great experiences too! So nice to know they treat models well. And glad you got home all safe and sound, the roads were SO BAD around Indy.
