I have been trying to find myself. Meaning that I am still trying to find what suits me; what feels right on me. And I think pin-up is the answer. I love everything about the genre. But whatever style I have tried in the past, I ALWAYS hit and miss. I can barely dress myself. I have yet to find the right hair cut. I always leave a salon less than 100%. Make-up is a no go. I try and do it and I think I am getting better at it. Hair-FORGET ABOUT IT! I can't style it for s***. And these are what makes a girl! Clothes, style, hair, make-up. I want to feel like a girl, but I always hide behind jeans and a t-shirt. Which is find by all means, but that's all I seem to wear.

I'm trying real hard to find what my style is, which may take awhile sadly. I just want to fit into me. I have yet to find the key to open that door. I must have misplaced it back in childhood where everyone grew into themselves but me.
I feel great about pin-up. Big problem when I think I can make myself look like a model, I fail once again.
So, I really need some guidance from any of you willing to help a gal out. Tips?

Pin up bangs is something I really want, but I have read everywhere and have been advised that since I have a round face with chubby cheeks, I cannot pull it of and will end up making my face fatter. But I hear from family and friends I would look great with bangs. I am confused.
I am confused about my style and what is a hit and a miss.

So PLEASE! Anyone out there that can mentor me into what I believe I desire.
THANK YOU!

I think it does take time to develop a personal style especially when you are trying to be unique. I learned a lot by asking women who I admired what they would suggest. In the process, I gained big hair and lost the purple eye shadow.
I think the important thing is to play with it and have fun. You can have private dress up parties at home while you get comfortable being seen as a glamour girl. The attention takes a little getting used to. I wear jeans and t-shirt most of the time, but I love to "doll it up" for a night out. Both have their place.
If you are wondering about bangs, why not try on a wig? If you don't like it you don't even have to buy it.
You are naturally very beautiful, remember that you are your own worst critic.

Well Elizabeth basically said what I was going to say.

Don't worry about looking like a model, you should look like yourself.
Try different things that you like, eventually you will find what fits you best.

You sound like me (several years ago...)
Clothes, make-up, & a fancy hairstyle don't define you. Do what makes you happy (& comfortable). If you like your jeans & a tshirt, wear 'em! If you find a fantastic retro dress & it fits like it was made for you & you just have to have it....rock it!
Your gorgeous, learn what flatters your assets...you can find alot of great hairstyle inspiration & make up tips on some of the forums on this site.

Hope that helps a little....Oh, & welcome to PL!
