I go on a jogging/walking combo 5-6 days a week. I do Pilates 3 times a week. And light weight training (3-5 lbs., no more than that) 3 times a week.

What do you do to stay fit?

I have an app on my iPhone called All-In Yoga and it is the best! I definitely like it more than using a DVD because of how it allows me to change up the routines, do focus work, and create my own if I like. I've also got it on my macBook.
i just had my 4th baby 8 weeks ago, so this is all very timely for me. i've been doing couch to 5K running for the past 2.5 weeks to get some cardio in, and just this week started a strength training program that is specifically for runners. i've always had hips, and i'm breastfeeding so i'm not too worried about losing the curves that count, lol. mainly concerned with ditching my post-baby belly. i'm trying my hardest to drink more water and cut down on sugary stuff but i have SUCH a big sweet tooth. i need to find some healthy substitutes....and tell my husband to stop bring home cases of girl scout cookies. i swear they call out to me when no one else is around. lol.

This is a great topic!

I've been an athlete my whole life and am getting a degree in Athletic Training. I compete in the Olympic sport of Eventing which is an equestrian triathlon and have been riding horses my whole life. One of the components of my sport (Dressage) I typically burn 750 calories an hour and do this on both my horses. When I ride it works my calves, inner thighs, abs, shoulders and back.

I also used to be a muay thai kick boxer and while prepping for fights I did cardio for 4 hours a day. (Seriously, go look at some of my pics, I have boxer arms) Although extreme, I never lost my curves. Unfortunately, a lot of it is genetics that has kept it. The pounds have shed but I still have a butt and a 27:35 in. waist to hip ratio and have to admit my butt is one of my best features. A

Currently on top of riding my horses 6 days a week, I also do hot yoga, weight training, and spinning. (I try to do it all in the same day too!)

It depends on how your body responds to certain work outs, some people can build muscle a lot more easier than others, and different workouts often lead to different results. If your looking to maintain your curves I think yoga is a good option along with some weight training in the glutes and thighs a couple times a week. Many IFFB Bikini Pros, incorporate glute and thigh workouts into their training because in those contests being lean and curvy is ideal, which includes many woman building up a great butt and that is possible regardless of genetics. I understand that in a lot of pin ups are afraid of having muscle, but if you are trying to lose weight I highly recommend incorporating a weight training program into 30-60 minutes of cardio.

However, nutrition plays a HUGE part of it as well. I'm a vegetarian and during the week I pre-portion and plan all my meals ahead to ensure proper nutrition. I'm aware that there are a lot of skinny girls that have told me they eat fast food 2x a day, girls thinner than me. But I know I'm healthier and it will catch up to them soon and feel good about my healthy lifestyle.

Sorry if I went a little off topic, everyone is different and I wish I could give a workout that could cover this topic entirely but everyone is different and has different goals However, you can't go wrong by eating healthy and exercising and I suggest finding something that you enjoy doing and set personal goals.

I have a sweet tooth as well. I reward myself with a small treat at night if I ate well during the day as a reward. I love Skinny Cow icecreams, and candies, but also like a couple of homemade dark chocolate covered strawberries, or dark chocolate covered raisins, or almonds, or a handful of trail mix. I don't feel as guilty though if I have a chocolate covered protein shake with a scoop of peanut butter.

I dance and do Jillian Michaels workout DVD's. Also I have 2 kids under 3 that keep me moving ;)

I oosing weight however I love my curves.  Therefore I eat right, drink plenty of water and exercise.  I have junk in the trunk as people call it and would like to keep it that way just a little firmer so I do aerobics, use the stair master, use the sauna to seat out toxins after each work out and here shortly I will be checking out a local workout place that specialize in pole dance for excerise.  I like to keep it healthy and sexy at the same time...we shall see.  I heard it'san excellent workout that will not kill my curves!

I wanted to try the pole dance too, it looked fun. I'd like boxing, but I am afraid it will affect the body in a way I won't like.

Anyway, I do pilates, or yoga. I am not really into the latter, but we'll see. As a former gymnast it's quite smooth to follow instructions without a personal trainer looking at me all the time and this makes them cheaper than other options.

Then my diet has to be well considered because of medical conditions anyway, so it's not something I really do to keep a nice body but I do it. And I walk fast as my regular pace.

Hula hooping is the perfect waist slimming activity & an absolute joy!! Bellydancing is also killer for that great stomach without over contouring the legs :)

I do triathalons. So my weekly workout plan consists of a combo of running, swimming, biking. Lots and lots of cardio. A little bit of weight training to define and tone.

I used to love taking yoga classes. Great way to build long and learn muscle.

I'm happy to join in on this thread. There are some awesome work out DVDs I found a few years ago:

"Island Girl Dance Fitness Workout"

"Never Mind Aerobics Here's Punk Rope"

"Punk Yoga"

"Hot Moves for Cool Chicks: A Burlesque Workout"

"Learn the Art of Vintage Burlesque"

"Burlates Presents: Naughty Pilates"

"Go Go Robics: Starring the World Famous Pontani Sisters" (now a volume 2)

Overall, for cardio and toning, I had the best results from swimming. I took up pilates later on. I went from being a size 12 all my life, to taking up walking, swimming, hot yoga and pilates, and I've trimmed down to a size 4. Middle age weight gain sucks!

Also, being an admitted sweet tooth, I took up making tea with fake "z" organic sugar in it instead of eating candy. It's not the same. The best diet tip I ever learned? Don't bring it in the house. If you can't control your grocery store impulses, find a way to purchase online and pick them up at the store. Now I don't even walk in the place to avoid buying whatever cute holiday seasonal cupcakes are around!
