I am just wondering for the rest of you, who is your favourite old-school pin up girl? Mine is Norma Jean Baker before she became Marilyn Monroe. I think she looks like very wholesome, beautiful and like the all-American girl next door. I'll post my favourite picture of her. If anyone knows the photographer here, please let us know who he/she is because I do not.

Betty Grable is my favorite - I've loved her since I was a little girl. She was stunning, fun and flirty. Love her! I even named myself after her! :D

My favorite is Jayne Mansfield. She oozes sexuality and charm, but wasn't afraid to be trashy and outrageous, no matter what anyone said about her.

Followed a close second by Marilyn, after she became Marilyn... I'll take the Bombshell over the girl next door any day!!

I would have to agree with you on  Norma Jean as one of my all time favorite pin ups,She was just very classic,very real and beautiful....my biggest inspiration next to Bettie Page. However I also loved Norma Jean once she became Marilyn,whether she was pre-Marilyn or post Marilyn she always had a innocent vulnerability about her that draws you in and makes you want to know more about her,I absolutely love and adore that woman for who she was and what she stood for and I think she is amazing. So as much as I love and adore Bettie as well....Norma is the reason I became interested in pinup to begin with,so I have to give credit where credit is due. :) <3 My Mom is the one who got me interested in Norma Jean/Marilyn when I was little. We would watch her movies and she'd tell me all she knew about her etc. So we are both huge fans of hers. I also love Mae West and Gypsy Rose Lee;so in order 1.N.J./Marilyn, 2.Bettie Page,3.Mae West,4.Gypsy Rose Lee, as far as favorites go:)

I recently discovered a pin-up from the 1900's called Alice White - She looked like Betty Boop, she was incredible looking!

 

Aside from her, I always loved Mae West, not so much for her looks but more because of her awesome sense of humour and personality! That woman came out with some of the best quotes ever.

 

I absolutely adore Sandra Dee as well. Too cute!!
