Lipstick that's worth a damn!

I'm trying to find a lipstick that doesn't dry my lips out. I find *the* color finally, but it makes my lips peel like a sunburn. Gross, I know. I'm venturing into Sephora and Macy's this weekend and I wondered if anyone had any suggestions as to what brand/type of lipstick I could try. I'd rather not spend $40 for a tube of stick, but I've come to terms with the fact that I just may have to, haha.

One word, MAC. All of their lip sticks are wonderful. For red, try Russian Red or Ruby Woo. Both Amazing.

I was gifted some, but they've changed how I look at lipstick. They even smell different - not as much filler maybe? Worth the extra $$$

They also make the *perfect* pinup red: #708 (sorry, don't know shade name). It's what I'm wearing in my photos. There's also a more scarlet version - right out of a 50's advert -, which is good if your skin tone can carry it.

The brand Lipstick Queen has a whole line of really amazing lip products. Their "Red Sinner" is the perfect pin-up red, and at $18 it's pretty affordable too!

I love NARS in Fire Lizard. it's GORGEOUS!!! or I like Palladio(Sally brand). I've tried Kat Von D's line, however it was too sticky!!

Yes, it's ColorSensational and it's fantastic :)  MAC discontinued my favorite red a while back and the ColorSensational Very Cherry is the best replacement I've found.  Rich color, very moisturizing, and yes, best of all doesn't cost a fortune.

There was a thread about chapstick and how you shouldnt use it. It actually dries out your lips.

 

as far as lippies go, I use Illamasqua (dont think you guys can get it over there tho) its £15. I get the shade "box"

I work for Estee Lauder and they've just updated their Pure Colour Lipsticks; they last a really long time plus have a glossy finish upon application. There are some great shades of red; Twinkling Ruby, Cherry Passion and Red Tango are all good depending on which type of red you want.

 

MAC are also great for lipsticks.

 

Benefit used to do a product called "Dr Feelgood's Lipscription" which is great to scrub, smooth and soothe your lips. :)
