has anyone ever called you "self consumed" for being a pin up?

Yeash!! It's been one of those days...a day when a real pin up girl just stays cool and calm with a blushing grin on her face! But, deeply...I am a little hurt. A person I know said that because I do pin up modeling, I am "self consumed". When I asked what she meant, she said that I had "no business being a model of any kind, that I am too big to model (I'm a size 12), and that I must care about nothing but myself to keep my hair, body, and makeup looking the way they always do". I felt like she was saying I don't deserve to have what I have. I was truly hurt by her comments. I was wondering if any of you other girls have ever run into people that act like that?? If so, what do you say to those people?

Tell her that you don't dress to a tea and keep impecable hair and makeup because you only care about yourself. You also do it for others to give them something nice to look at. And while you're at it tell her she might could do the same and we would all appreciate it! Pin ups of all shapes and sizes have one job only, to make the world a more beautiful place and that seems to me the farthest thing from self absorbed. Love you beautiful ladies ;)

Ohhh.. That comment translates to one single thing. It's a phenomena in ANY language and what she meant to say was ---> I am SOOOOO jealous of you! I wish I had the courage to put glamour into my everyday life and enjoy my body and my apperance by enhancing the good features that I have got. I will now put you down because I believe that that will elevate myself.. just a little. And it bothers me that you are comfortable in your body when I'm not.

 

I know it's very hurtful. But she is the bitter energy-stealing person and you have the joy, the glamour and you are a pin-up! Please try to find strenghth from her envy and the best of luck in the future to you!

Tell them to f*** off.  No one has the right to tell you what you have the business to do.  If you feel good about yourself, then that's what matters.  What does RuPaul always say on his show?  It's none of your business what others think of you.  Something like that.

That is just awful! I'm sorry that person said such rude things that couldn't be farther from the truth. There is nothing wrong with your size first of all, there is no size limit in pinup (that's a wonderful part of it) and I think it's a healthy size. And to be "self consumed"? Why because you look good? Maybe it's just jealously that made these comments fly.

 

Sometimes I get people trying to make fun of me for walking with a parasol on really hot days or just for wearing my everyday pinup clothes. It makes me feel a little flustered but even when i feel let down by the comments I just walk right on by because I think that you've got to own it And I'm sure you own it. I'm kinda shy myself so sometimes it's hard to hear such comments, but i have fun doing what I do and being what I am. You must feel the same way, don't worry about those kinds of comments, you know who you are.

I am a fan of pin up modeling every time  I get on PL i am inspired thanks to this website  I have more confidence. I think all of you models are BAD .
