Where do you find the styling solution? I've looked for it before and couldn't find it.
Personally, I dislike hot rollers. I use perm rods on hair damp with mousse. Totally not keen on setting lotion, either! They dry relatively fast and provide a good, strong, uniform curl.
I do not like hot rollers that are held in place with clips- they leave funny creases in my hair. I only use the ones with the pins. And they have never fried my hair, but the curl only lasts if it has cooled completly, the weight of the hair will pull warm curls out. I don't like how heavy a head of hot rollers is so when I curl this way I remove them when they are warm, roll the curl back up and clip it in place with a pin curl clip and let them all cool completly, and they cool faster without the roller in there. I also used only the medium rollers from two different sets (since I needed that many to roll up my long, thick hair) the less hair in each roller- the better the curl.
Velcro rollers get tangled up in wet and damp hair so the hair has to dry completly before you take them out, and I'm not that patient.
Sponge rollers can leave creases in the hair, but you can smooth them out with a curling iron afterward and they are the most confortable to sleep on. Wet set curls last longer then heat styled curls.
I prefer to curl with a curling iron.
all true, but Curling irons really damage your hair when you use them too often. :) (just had to cut 3 inches off my hair...augh)

Here's a thread about Hot Rollers, some stuff in there might help. http://www.pinuplifestyle.com/forum/topics/hot-rollers
