Bay Area Burlesque?

IVe just recently moved to the Oakland, California and was just curious if anybody had any recommendations on burlesque groups I should check out? Or is anybody on here a burlesque performer in the area? I want to find a group to join but want to do my research first! =P

Welcome to the Bay! We have a great Burlesque scene here, my favorite being the Hubba Hubba Revue. http://www.hubbahubbarevue.com/

They have a weekly show in Oakland at the Uptown, and a bigger monthly show on Fridays, used to be at the DNA, not sure where it is now....

If you plan on going, let me know. I haven't been in a while and I'd love to go back!

I'm really new to burlesque; I'm actually taking my first classes at Bombshell Betty's starting next week! She does have a troupe; I think the website is www.bombshellbetty.net

There was also another group that performed in Pacifica; I don't have their name/website with me at the moment but I'll look for their flyers when I'm at home tomorrow.

Bombshell Betty is great. She's a total sweetheart and her classes are a lot of fun (so i've heard from the girls that took them). She has a night (3rd monday) for her girls to preform at the Hubba show. Hope you love the class, and let me know if you're gonna hit a show..... maybe we should do a Bay Area Burlesque Meet?

I would LOVE to do a Bay Area meet up! I think it could be a lot of fun. ;) I'm pretty shy so I do need a little coaxing to "come out of my shell." But everyone here seems so awesome and friendly.

So the fliers I've got from the Pacifica even are for the Hubba Hubba review and another for Red Hots Burlesque. Red Hots are also advertising some classes; I might try a few of theirs just to get some different perspective on performing. Their address is redhotsburlesque.com

Oh, I wish I wasn't all the way in Sacramento! 'Cause I'd love to join in the fun with you ladies! I'm looking to join a burlesque troupe as well, or join in on some fun workshops, but I can't seem to to find much in this area... I'd love to know if any of you head out this way, 'cause it'd be nice to meet up with some dames such as yourselves; who are looking to delve into burlesque further!

I had a blast at the first class... even though I'm totally uncoordinated! The atmosphere was was great.
