What's your favorite? What pieces are essential under your vintage and retro dresses?

Personally, I never wear a dress without an open bottom girdle underneath. Not only does it hold my tummy in and keep my butt from jiggling too much, it also holds up my stockings. I also like to wear a corset/cincher under tight dresses to make my waist just a little tinier.

Under high waisted pants I wear a spanks...just for that extra firmness and to keep my tummy in.

Okay this is odd:  the Rago site doesn't have my bra size.  I'm smaller than a 34 B.  I'm a 32 B or 34 A depending on the manufacturer.

I know Rago dont do smaller sizes you should try What Katie Did they go down to 32b in their glamour shapewear range Im pretty sure. http://www.whatkatiedid.com Im a 32DD and cant wear Rago either, thats how I got into WKD i the frst place now I rarely go anywhere else.

great links, as a newbie I haven't done much in the way of bindings, just standard garterbelts and a bra (I wear corsets but usually more for a burlesque look not under clothes) I need to invest in a few pieces.

Lilly - totally glad you posted this link!!! I'm a 32DD as well and its such an awkward size, so hard to find stuff for it.

A question for you girls that wear binding garments when you order say a open bottom girdle do you actually order the size of your waist? Or do you order a bit smaller?  I've worn corsets before but never a girdle but now that I'm doing some pinup stuff I would like to start I'm wearing a dress that ties on the shoulders for the Miss Beatersville contest and I'm thinking of pairing a long bustier with a open bottom girdle to give the girls some oomph and give me a nice line. I would really prefer something all in one but haven't found a strapless one in my size yet.

The brand is Kiss Me Deadly, i found the website here, they're based near me in the UK and they seem to be well known over here so Im very hopefull :D

Yes I know Kiss me Deadly..thats the lovely Morgana modeling that isnt it....anyway I own 2 of their corselettes - the fit is pretty good, tight but still pretty easy to get into and out of. They look very pretty though the control isnt as strong as the What Katie Did ones and they are not as comfortable. The underwire in both of the corselettes I have came out of its stitching on the first or second wear of them, however none of the other parts are failing so the girdle should be ok. They use the metal suspender clips which are good and strong and that model has the high back doesnt it? which is great cuz I have having my bum flattened by girdles.

Overall I'd say it is a good girdle with a really sexy look, but perhaps not one for everyday wear if you want it to last. For that I would recomend the slightly more expensive ones at What Katie Did.

Ok fot a strapless option try the merry widdow from the What Katie Did glamour shapewear range (Scroll up to my previous comment for the link...man I sound like an agent LOL) But if you go with the long line bra and open girdle (very hot look!) go with your natural waist measurement or you will end up with a bump and maybee rolling down at the waist band. With a waist cincher you can go a size down, though it is less comfortable, it is a really nice look...both WKD and Rago (available from secrets in lace) have nice cinchers that look good with a strapless bra.

Yes it is Morgana :D  <3 her work. It s the one with the high back, got it for £19.99 from ebay rather than £45 from the website. Thanks for your advice, I really appreciate it, what katie did have some beautiful ones, I will have to save my pennies lol! Im planning to use it for special occasions and dare I say for the bedroom lol. I already have an hour glass figure I just wanted something more defining for my dresses :)

 

May I ask if anyone knows where I can buy bras in a 36G??

I love the merry widow from what katie did, i saw the the other day and will get one, but for the event next week-end I opted for an open bottom girdle from Crown off the girdlebound site in white, i would have got the merry widow if it came in white, or red. I'll do the girdle with a strapless bustier. And ordered it in my waist size so hopefully that will work out!
