What next?

Ok let me start off by saying, that from September 2007 to May 2008, my mother and I lived in this apartment complex. Every night the cops would be there because of more people fighting. We finally had enough of it especially since we had tons of problems with out apartment that the managment would not fix. Including mold in the bathroom (that was there before we even got there). a window that had a horrible leak when it rained, tile coming up in the kitchen with mold underneath it, a fridge that was absolutely disgusting and leaked an orange fluid. None of this was fixed. They would come in and look at it, tell us they were going to fix it, and never show up. BTW that wasn't the whole list of the items.
So my mother sent them a message that said if they did not start working on this stuff, then we were going to break our lease and move, plus call the .. some place that would get them in trouble for that stuff. They didn't work on anything.. so we moved. In with her fiance. Now this situation is f****** crazy. Literally. This guy is seriously nuts. So my mother and I are trying desperately to get back to St. Louis. We found these apartments that we just absolutely loved..
Today they called my mom and told her that we had been denied because they said that the old apartment is charging us $2000 for leaving early. We have next to nothing when it comes to money.
I don't even know what we can do anymore. My mom said she is going to call that place to try and work something out. But its pretty much hopeless.. nothing we can really do about it anymore.

Maybe we could win the lottery or something like that. That would help.

For the past 5 years nothing has worked out right. Of course things just have to keep getting worse and worse.
