Finding The Right Dress

Matt and I are not your "typical" couple - we love hot rods, pin-up girls, swing music and tattoos...so a typical wedding dress just wouldn't do. I started my search by googling Vintage Wedding Dresses, '50s Style Wedding Dresses, Old Hollywood Style Wedding Dresses, etc. and found some really fun dresses. Here are some fun sites to check out for everything other then "typical."

www.whirlingturban.com or contact her on her PL Page - Remember, you don't always have to go for a long traditional wedding dress. Whirlingturban also does custom work - and it's beautiful! A good option for the wedding dress or even the bridesmaids dresses.

www.stephaniejamescouture.com - Beautiful dresses, a little bit on the expensive side...but well worth it. The style is very vintage, reminiscent of Jackie O. They carry a variety of different style dresses, tea length, long and suit.

Don't be afraid to go for something fun and funky. Patterns are always fun, especially if you are doing a simple wedding - like a beach, or a Vegas wedding.

omg those are brilliant, i love the bottom whirling turban and think it would go fab with your red hair! and the stephany james with the netting and the shoulder and back detail, not to mention a cute shoot at the air field, but i think that one is so classy and cute. oh betty im so exited for you!

Thank you Dolls! :) Too sweet! I've actually already found my dress! I will be posting pictures of the wedding when it's all said and done! Going into a vintage shop is an excellent idea! I can't wait to see your photos!

I hear ya sister! I was in the same boat as you when it came to planning my look for my wedding day. I wanted something unique of course but that represented me as a girl who loves vintage, rockabilly music and all the lifestyle that goes with it. I ended up finding a great vintage 40s dress at one of my favorite vintage stores, that they helped me search for. Then I found a great bridal train and shoes. I will attach a picture next!!
