Modification Discrimination

It happens all the time and most people do not give it a second thought because they are of the opinion that individuals who choose to modify themselves are "asking for" negative attention.  Which is the least of a string of offensive comments I have seen littering the Internet when it comes to discussion of body modification.  The one thing I really cannot grasp is why what others to do their bodies is such a concern that people are compelled to share their ignorant thoughts under the guise of an Internet handle.  Would you have as much courage to say the same thing to someone's face?

While I do not write about this subject as much as I once did, because it honestly does get tiring to constantly repeat oneself since people are stubborn and set in their opinion, it is hard to ignore the things that are said.  Not that I generally care, but words can be hurtful and I find it really unnecessary to hurl insults at someone because of their appearance.  You have no idea how this can affect a person, and thus  I present Modification Discrimination, an article that discusses bullying and general stereotyping of modified individuals.
