I think my sewing machine is haunted. . .and I can't cut this fabric. . .

Ok so I think my sewing machine is haunted. . . or maybe its just mad at me for neglecting it these last few months because it just starts moving without me touching it or even being near it. . . .
That however is not my problem at the moment. . . see I've acquired this absolutely beautiful red vintage fabric very specifically only about 3 yards of this absolutely beautiful fabric which unfortunately I love too much to bring myself to cut. So now I have no idea what to do with it. . .I actually have a dress I'm having a similar problem with. . . .what to do, what to do . . . .
maybe its my horrid sleeping patterns but I'm actually at a loss and I have no viable ideas. Anyone care to help? Just throw out random ideas?
