Continuing our new column of MODEL SECRETS, we would like to share with you, our readers with the experience of one of our professional model – Elena Avdeeva (Figaro Pink), who currently, successfully continuing her modelling in European countries.

Having worked in countries like France, Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, she appeared in the adverts of Max Mara, Karl Lagerfeld ,Armani Jeans, SK II cosmetics, Carlsberg, Levi’s, Wacoal lingerie, Florsheim Shoes, La Fifer Jeans, Chanel S/S 2007 and many others…
She also took part in various fashion shows : Chanel, Tiffany, Bulgary, L’Oreal, Issey Miyake,Dior, Lancel,Celine, M&S, GAP, FCUK,YSL,Levi’s, Padini, Valentino, Versace ,Giorgio Armani, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Dolce e Gabbana,Ralph Lauren,Laura Biagiotti, Luciano Soprani, Valentin Yudashkin, DKNY, Fendi,Comme des Garcons,Gucci,Fendi,Chaumet to name a few…

Currently, Elena is working in Paris in legendary Angels & Demons model agency.
HOW DO I FIND OUT ABOUT THE CASTING
Usually, i receive an email or text from the agency with the information about the castings. Castings may be planned as well as “last minute” ones.
HOW MANY CASTINGS PER DAY
During the Fashion Week, you may have up to 15 castings a day, depending on reaction of the clients in the model.
HOW I GET READY FOR THE CASTING
Make up: very natural, very light powder, mascara and lip balm
What i wear-very simple, but showing off your curves clothes: simple black top, skinny jeans or shirt skirt.
VERY IMPORTNT- the clients have to see your figure. No accessories.
WHAT IS ALWAYS IN YOUR BAG
Portfolio(my Book),Blackberry, high heels.
HOW DO I GET TO THE CASTINGS
Normally I take the tube, but if i have many castings then I take the driver.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE CASTINGS
FASHION SHOWS
The clients normally look at my book and ask me to do a catwalk, if they like the model, they will normally do some polaroids.
CATALOGUES
Looking at the book, making pictures(tests)
TV COMMERSIAL/PRINT
Normally, they do a preliminary video, if there is a special story, you may be asked to show some acting skills to the camera, they also do some tests.
HOW DO I TAKE THE CASTINGS
Hmmmm…… i do not know how i take the casting or I do not take the castings…. i just always trying to be in a good shape.
DIFFICULTIES OF THE CASTINGS
Lots of waiting!!!! Sometimes you may have to wait up to 2 hours in the queue for the casting
MY OWN ADVICE OF HOW TO TAKE THE CASTING FOR BEGINNER MODEL
Always be yourself! And always believe in yourself! Models, do not try to be like someone else. Each model is unique and interesting as she is. Always remember your strong points and always try work on the ones that need improving.
