Hot rods, customs, hot chicks and sausages made up the launch of the latest issue of Fuel Magazine at the Rancho Deluxe Speed and Customs garage last Sunday. Each launch is getting a little bigger, and this one was like a mini-festival!
Maiki and I live just a few blocks from this very cool custom garage belonging to one of Maiki's car club mates, Ben. Their car club, the Kardinals, were celebrated in a previous issue of this fabulous little glossy mag, produced by photographer Luke Ray. The latest issue celebrates the cars of the Kardinal's 'rival' car club, the Vultures.
Martin from the Vultures and Ben
A tough little tike!
Luke has been expanding his Fuel empire into other products like tee-shirts and beer cozies, but the brilliance of his car and pin-ups photography is what makes this Australian-based magazine best. Next week Maiki and I are honored to be attending Luke's marriage to his lovely jazz-dancing partner, Min. I can't wait to see the results of his photography of the day, as he has asked all the car club guests to bring their cars to the wedding, which will take place at a Victorian winery.

Check out the Fuel web-site to purchase a copy of this collectible, Australian hot rods and customs magazine. This issue also features Ben's latest hot rod, built from scratch and finished immaculately. And if you live in Melbourne and are into customs, check out Rancho Deluxe. Every Saturday Ben makes delicious coffees and muffins at his casual garage 'cafe', a place to meet local greasers or just read the morning papers. Maiki and I like to start our Saturdays there as often as we are able!
